-°•The Coffee Girl•°-
No One's POV:
Luna sat in the corner of her favorite cafe, a coffee in hand as she delved into her book.
The sounds of the café surrounded her until she heard the sound of footsteps drawing near. Attempting to maintain her focus, Luna kept her attention fixed on the pages until the footsteps paused before her table.
Though she initially tried to dismiss the interruption, the distinct sound of a clearing throat prompted Luna to look up.
Before her, stood a young woman with chestnut brown hair and warm brown eyes, clad in a crisp white t-shirt, denim jeans, and a stylish green crossbody bag draped over her shoulder.
"Hello, can I sit here for a bit?" the girl asked, her voice tinged with a hint of nonchalance
Luna merely shrugged and gestured for her to take a seat, opting to remain silent.
While it seemed as though she might leave her alone and just sit in silence after the exchange, she paused, fixing her gaze on Luna and tilting her head slightly. The girl softly introduced herself
"I'm Amy, it's nice to meet you," she said as she held out her hand for Luna to shake.
Luna glanced down at her hand and then sipped her coffee before responding with reserved politeness, "Nice to meet you too, I suppose."
Amy's curiosity was piqued, and she gently probed, "Are you always this quiet?" Her inquiry was accompanied by a knowing smirk as she retracted her hand.
"I don't talk much," Luna replied with a nonchalant shrug.
Amused, Amy leaned in and rested her elbows on the table, observing, "You're a very interesting person, I can tell."
Inquisitively, Luna questioned, "Why interesting?"
Amy's smirk widened as she explained, "You're mysterious, you don't speak much. That's all." Her gaze lingered on Luna, conveying a sense of intrigue.
"Hmm..." Luna hummed thoughtfully as she leaned back, distancing herself from Amy. She shifted her focus back to the book in her hands as she tried to immerse herself in the story.
Amy glanced at Luna, observing her for a few moments before settling back in her chair and taking out her phone. Her fingers danced across the screen as she scrolled through various apps, effectively tuning out Luna's presence.
Luna briefly glanced up at Amy before returning to her book, intentionally disengaging from the lingering awkwardness of the situation. She found solace in the peace of the story unfolding in her hands.
Sensing Luna's detachment, Amy sighed softly and set her phone aside. She met Luna's gaze and asked, "What's your name?"
In a quiet, unassuming tone, Luna replied, "Luna."
Amy repeated Luna's name to herself, savoring the soft sounds. "That's a beautiful name," she murmured, her voice laced with sincerity.
"Thank you," Luna responded, her words carrying a hint of gratitude for the unexpected compliment.
As the silence threatened to envelop them once more, Amy racked her brain for something to say, always struggling with small talk.
"You said your name is Amy, right? Just making sure I heard correctly."Luna asked as she put her book down on the table.
"Yes, it's Amy," she confirmed, her eyes reflecting a hint of surprise that Luna had remembered.
"I like your name," Luna added.
Amy blushed at the unexpected praise. "Thank you, I like yours too," she admitted, her gaze drifting away in an attempt to conceal her embarrassment. Compliments always left her feeling tongue-tied.
"Really?" Luna asked, genuinely curious.
"Yeah, it's pretty," Amy replied, meeting Luna's eyes with a newfound sense of connection. She had never expected to find ease with Luna, and yet here they were, sharing a surprisingly enjoyable conversation.
"What is my name?" Luna asked suddenly.
"Luna. Your name is Luna," Amy replied confidently but also confused by the sudden question.
"Correct, good job," Luna acknowledged.
Amy smirked. "Well, you know my name too. So it's only fair that I know yours." She looked at Luna with a smug expression on her face.
"Yes, but you never know if you'll forget," Luna countered.
"I won't forget," Amy said confidently, showing that she was getting more comfortable around Luna.
Luna thought for a moment before saying, "If you forget my name, you owe me a favor."
Amy's smirk faded. "A favor? What kind of favor?" She asked suspiciously.
"Anything I ask for," Luna confirmed.
Amy was hesitant to agree, expressing her uncertainty about what Luna might ask for. "What if it's something I don't want to do?" She asked.
"It won't be sexual or anything," Luna said bluntly.
Amy felt a mixture of embarrassment and disbelief as a faint blush crept across her cheeks in response to the unexpected mention of sexual favors. She found herself questioning Luna's true intentions, wondering if this was all just a game. "Fine, I agree," she responded, her eyes expressing a hint of frustration as she rolled them.
"Good, deal?" Luna proposed, extending her hand as a sign of sincerity.
Amy hesitated briefly, grappling with her uncertainty before finally reaching out to grasp Luna's offered hand. "Deal," she affirmed, her internal apprehension hinting at the possibility of future regret.
