"Good boy." He couldn't hide how pleased he was with his cooperation. Though he still wanted to get back at the villain for all the losses he had caused him over the months, he now had another way to punish him.

His eyes gleamed with mischief and Matteo patted the man in front of him on the cheek. Rowan was more submissive than usual, not daring to tease him, and the hero was pleased at the respect he was showing him.

He had originally gone to his place under the pretext of a quarrel, even expecting blows, but he should have known that after a year of passion it would be difficult to inflict pain on the other without pleasure immediately following.

"You have a lot to make up for," he pointed out. Confusion flashed in the dark-haired man's eyes, slowly but surely being replaced by desire. He was waiting for a command from Matteo, and the man was enjoying the power he had over him, even though he craved him just as much, if not more.

"I know," he assured him, but he was still waiting.

"Then you should do your best," he advised, running one hand through his hair while the other slid down to his stomach.

Rowan's Adam's apple moved up and down as he swallowed, drinking in Matteo's every move with his eyes.

Lifting his hand from his stomach, he placed his thumb on Rowan's lower lip and pulled it down before releasing it. His lips were full and inviting, and though he'd tasted them so many times, he'd never had enough.

"Kiss me." Finally, the command the villain had waited for so long. He'd promised the hero that he would cooperate, and if their teamwork was going to be as precise and without a single complaint as it was now, their future together looked promising.

Matteo's fingers touched the back of his neck and his other hand slipped shamelessly into the villain's pants. His lips caught his moan before it could escape completely and his tongue savoured the aftertaste.

"Bunny," the nickname escaped his lips the moment they both felt the need for air. Although Matteo had always pretended he didn't like being called that, and perhaps it was degrading in a way, he couldn't help but feel his arousal rise every time he heard Rowan's deep voice address him as such.

"You've given me your word and your loyalty, but I'll need one more thing," Matteo said in a low tone, and because of their proximity, his lips brushed against Rowan's with some of the syllables.

This time the villain didn't hesitate. His hands slid down from Matteo's hips and in one swift movement he lifted him into his arms. The hero wrapped his legs around his waist and his arms around his neck.

Matteo expected him to take him straight to the bedroom as he had done so many times before, but that didn't happen. Instead, the villain's eyebrows flickered as if he wasn't sure of his own thoughts, but when Matteo's fingers tugged at the hair at the back of his neck, his mind immediately snapped back to the present.

The hero was definitely not prepared for what slipped out of his lips. "Do you want to spend the night?"

For months they had had an established routine and an unwritten rule that kept Matteo awake at night and tortured his heart, but apparently it was no longer being followed.

"Since when do you let me sleep in your bed?" he asked. Rowan had been more than honest with him today, or so he hoped, so he hoped he would give him an equally honest answer now.

"It wouldn't be the first time." Another answer he hadn't expected. He'd thought that the night in question was taboo, a violation of the rules that they didn't talk about, but once again he was clearly wrong.
