2: A trip?

Annabeth's P.O.V.

"PERCY?! Can you please help me now?" I screamed, for probably the third time. I am pregnant with our second baby and trying to make some dinner. But, the tomatoes I need are in our fridge at the highest shelf and I can't reach it. I mean, I could if I stood on a chair, but I don't want to risk anything. If I fell and then maybe there would be something wrong with the baby... I would not risk a life for some stupid tomatoes. So I just waited for Percy.

A couple of minutes later he came running down the stairs. "How can I help you, Wise Girl?" he asked sweetly. I smiled and said: "Tomatoes, fourth shelf." while pointing at our fridge. He stood on his toes to grab the tomatoes and gave them to me. "Here you go!" I thanked him and gave him a kiss. "You can come to eat dinner in half an hour, okay?" He nodded and said he was going to the store to buy new swimwear for him. Because he swam so much, they became worn out quickly.

So I started making dinner. It was just a simple pasta with tomatoes, mozzarella and garlic that Sally had taught me. When Percy came back he laid the table and we could start eating dinner.
"Annabeth, what would you think of a trip, to the beach maybe?" he asked when we were washing the dishes. "I think it would be great! Just a couple of days relaxing. Yes, I would like that and I think Silena would too." Silena was our daughter. She was six and a beautiful young lady with blonde curls and sea-green eyes. At the moment she was at her best friend Avery's house. Her mom Amy and I were great friends since our daughters played with each other often.

Immediately I started planning for this vacation. Where would we be going? What would we need to pack? How long would we stay? I was thinking about all these questions. "Maybe we could look on the internet for some places where we could go?" He took our laptop and we sat together on the couch. We looked for beaches and cities, far and close from New York.

Then Percy saw something. "What about this, District Four?" It actually looked really nice, so we went on the site. I read out loud: "Welcome to D4, the city of sun, sea and beach! We have the full package for your perfect vacation at the beach. We have many different beaches and islands, so the choice is yours. We also offer a variety of hotels and beach houses where you can stay." That seemed like a pretty good vacation! Percy and Silena absolutely love the beach and the sea. And I do too, but not as much as they do.

I looked at the clock to see it was almost a quarter to seven. "I will go pick up Silena, Amy said I could come around seven. I love you!" I said when I walked towards the door. "I love you too, be careful!"
Then I drove to Amy's house, it took me about ten minutes. I walked up to the door and rang the bell. Amy opened and greeted me. "Hello, Annabeth! Good to see you again! Silena and Avery are playing upstairs. Come in!" We hugged and I walked inside. "Did you had any problems with our girls?" I asked smiling, knowing the answer already. "Oh no! Never, they're such sweethearts. How is your baby doing, actually?"
"Really good, I am three months already and didn't have any problems."

Then our sweethearts came running down the stairs and Silena hugged me immediately. "Mommy! We had so much fun today! Can Avery come to us tomorrow, please, please, please?" I laughed and looked at Amy. "I am sorry Silena," she said, "but Avery and her dad and I are going to visit her grandparents tomorrow. Maybe another day, okay?" "Okay!" And then she wanted to run off again with Avery but I stopped her. "Silena, we need to go because your dad is waiting back home with a surprise!" "A surprise!? Are you having another baby!?" she screamed happily. We laughed and I said: "No, but I think you're also going to like this one."

"Well let's go then!" she said and she hugged Avery and thanked Amy and stood already at the door. I also said goodbye and they walked with us to our car. "Bye Silena! Have a nice vacation!" Avery screamed before we drove back home. Silena waved and then they were out of sight.

In the car Silena told me all the adventures she and Avery had experienced today. They pretended they were fairies and that they needed to save the world from the monsters. Later in her life, Silena would probably indeed save the world from monsters. With two relatively strong demigods as parents, it was almost impossible to not become a demigod. But that were worries for later.

Back home we all sat on Silena's bed. She showered and wore blue pajamas were 'I only sleep underwater' was written on. Percy and I gave this to her for her birthday. "Mom, you said there was a surprise!" she said. "Right, we," I said while looking at Percy, "decided that we could go on a vacation to the beach!" Silena screamed happily and hugged us both. I continued: "But, we're not going to the beach we went the last couple of years with you, we're going to District 4, it's a kind of city with different beaches and islands!"
Silena hugged us again and said: "Awesome! When are we leaving?" Then Percy answered. "In two weeks... and I know someone who needs to sleep right now, she's a beautiful girl with blonde curls." Silena laughed and said with a smile: "Is it... mommy?"
We laughed and Percy kissed my cheek and told her: "No, mommy is also a beautiful girl with blonde curls but it's you that needs to sleep!" We kissed her goodnight and left her room. "I love you guys" Silena said and I answered: "And we love you too." I think she fell asleep really fast.
