⭑ ~🟎☾⭑I solemnly swear I am up to no good ⭑☽🟎~ ⭑
The end of September crept up on Sam, as the leaves around Hogwarts started to turn deep shades of red, orange, and brown.
Outside her tiny window in her dorm, she could see fifth years playing quidditch across the lawn, tossing a quaffle around on their brooms. And here she was, on a Saturday of all days, forced to catch up on defense homework because of some stupid detentions.
While Sam's first detention was pretty light, only being forced into cleaning up Professor Flitwick's room, the rest of her detentions were much more tasking.
If only those stupid boys weren't always paired with her, she'd get out of detention much quicker. Now joined by two more Gryffindor boys, Remus and Peter of all people, Sam can't seem to get anything done.
Any lines or cleaning assigned now take at least four times longer. Huffing, Sam pulls out a piece of parchment and begins writing her essay on the danger of trolls.
"Hey Sam, down for some gobstones?" Kai barges in, as Sam faintly hears music playing from across the hall.
Sam looks longingly at the door where most of her friends presumably are, laughing away on a weekend. Sam tilts her head back towards Kai who stood waiting at the entrance.
"I-I'm sorry Kai, I can't. I have all this homework." She says sheepishly.
"That's okay," Kai closes the door halfway. "Can I uh- suggest something?"
"Go for it."
"For your next prank, I was thinking I could help you. I have like this huge prank in mind, and I doubt anyone would know it's us. I mean, I think it would be harder to get caught-"
"Thanks Kai, but Ravenclaw's already down 30 points because of me, I don't think we need another first year to lose points for us."
"Yeah, but just listen. If you could just like, I don't know, make it less obvious it was you. Make it seem like James of one of them did it instead."
"I'll keep it in mind, thanks." Kai closes the door, leaving Sam to retreat back to her essay. If only Kai knew, Sam thought.
With only a month into school, Sam has already received numerous detentions, lost Ravenclaw 30 house points, and set Professor Vetri's desk on fire. It was a total and complete accident.
Most horribly of all, Sam received her first Howler the other day from her father during breakfast. The entire hall went quiet while her father yelled through the pages, spitting bits of ink over the table.
"SAMANTHA GINERVA PREWETT! WE WARNED YOU AGAINST THIS VERY THING AT HOGWARTS! DO I NEED TO REMIND YOU THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS, OR WILL YOU LEARN TO STAY IN LINE. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN YOU SAMMY. I THOUGHT YOU WOULDN'T BE FOOLISH ENOUGH TO STOOP DOWN TO YOUR BROTHERS' LEVELS, BUT APPARENTLY NOT!"
