First Days Of School

2013 January

The night before school I was so excited for tomorrow first day in high school, that night I couldn't sleep I pre packed everything for tomorrow we had a dress code since we're new (grade 8)so we will be getting initiated for the whole month cool I didn't care about that I was so excited for the new school.

Next day

Morning, woke up did my business the first day week we had to wear tracksuits with blue shirts and no shoes (I had shoes on though), I got to school yoh it was full my mom dropped me off I'm a big girl Mos didn't need my mom to stay with me plus she had to go to work, I saw my friends I went to them we were so happy that finally we are here, school started at 8am we were told to stand in a line and be quiet, your girl was the first to get initiated cause she couldn't stop talking, they made me do sit up (well I didn't mind I was fit Mos lol) they saw this one will be a problem but a cute problem, after I did 20 sit ups they told me to go back to the line, I went and looked down cause that's what we were told to do. At 9am our names were called we got assigned to our classes my name got called in 8c I was a little sad cause some of my friends were in a different class but I bossed up, I got to class I was so quiet ehhh new faces plus the guys kept looking at me and I wasn't about that life so it felt weird why are this people looking... okay moving on, it was now break went out had lunch with my friends I had 3 friends Rethabile, Lulama and Lerato we were in the same primary, after break we didn't go to class the RCL's(people who initiated us) called us they made us pick up papers after that we went to class we didn't really do much the first week in class, fast forward to Friday last day of the week it wasn't all bad I now knew the names of my classmates we were 31 in class plus it was nice knowing new people I loved my class.

The second week of school now things started getting hectic we were given our timetables we had to learn the teachers names and where their classes are that was new and fun we got to change classes meaning I got to sit next to anyone I wanted, I loved that even though it didn't last long cause the teachers learned our characters some chose for us I didn't like that cause I always wanted to sit at the back "mind you" I couldn't see lol but I forced my eyes but some classes I set in the front cause I liked the teacher like my social science teacher we called it SS he was cool he made school fun I enjoyed going to his classes, the initiation wasn't as bad now I still didn't listen to some of the instructions but it was nice.

The third week camp week I couldn't wait we had camp on Friday finally weekend away from home different environment I now made more friends I had a venda friend I got to learn a different language also I had more guy friends than girls
The week went by so fast it was Friday finally we now got green shirts for the camp they looked so cute or maybe I was excited about everything lol, we went on the bus yoh it felt so long we to this other place called Deneysville our camp was held there I honestly didn't care how the place looked I just wanted to arrive, it was nice in the bus the RCL's were nicer now they made jokes it wasn't as bad as the first day,we got to the camp we chose our own rooms fun every room had 12 beds bank beds so 12 each room but in our room we were 6 you know not a lot of girls plus we chose for ourselves so no one complained we left our bags in room went outside.

First rule for the day we had to be in groups we were told to make a line boy, girl, boy, girl yeah you see the pattern I chose my own people as you know I now had guy friends that was our group for the whole weekend fun,they gave us activities to do team building activities you know it was nice I'm a very active person so I enjoyed everything we got to play in the water the water smelt like fish ew but ey we didn't care cause we all smelt like fish lol, after that we went to eat lunch yeei food after lunch we went to the hall they gave us pamphlets with the school song and spirit song well I think that's what it's called we continued with the activities we had to ask each other questions, our names, age and where we come from you know introduction nyana, after that the principal came ehhh that guy didn't play things got serious the fun was now over yoh things got physical by that I don't mean fighting ao I mean exercising yoh I've never done so many push up and sit ups in my life cause if one person didn't listen we had to start over that was the worst part he even had a special sit up yoh you had to stop mid way for like a minute before moving up yoh I kept asking myself when will it end at some point I wanted to cry but you know boss babies don't cry, it was now late we went to eat cool while eating in my head I was happy yeei finally we get to go sleep I was so tired I needed that bed plus it was now cold cause we were next to the water Ahhh it didn't end there they told us to go change and come back we went near the water to sing imagine SING we went and sang so the catch was whoever who knows the words got to go to bed again I was last to leave well I wasn't last last but the I was part of the last group ao I was tired all I was thinking about was bed and the RCL's were also tired so eventually they had to let us go.

Saturday morning we had an early morning, morning ehhh the bell I hated that bell I still hate that bell nxa, got up the first morning shame (I have a problem I don't bath in front of other people it doesn't matter girl or boy I just find it weird like why would you want to look at me while I bath weirdo) I had to wait for the shower to be unoccupied so that I can bath comfortably, finally they finished went in did my business left I was the last one out the bath room (I expected that cause you know privacy) the RCL's gave me a look when I got out I didn't mind that cause I was technically done, we spent the whole day in the hall playing games, musical chairs I was one of the last 2 people standing and I was supposed to win he pulled the chair cheater every game that we played either I won or I was the second person standing I never back down, after the games we had to do a mini play in our groups loved it, after the plays we stayed in the hall and sang the whole night till midnight if they found you sleeping you would feel water on your face lol we left that hall knowing every word to both songs,eventually we went to bed I think it was around 1-2am on Sunday.

The last morning I was the first to wake up it felt so nice to the free in the shower to have hot water at least it felt like heaven when I left the shower the RCL's got in lol they didn't expect to find anyone there, I swear it felt like we were there for a month longest weekend of my life I wanted to go home yoh, the girls started singing "di'khubule khaya' the way the weekend felt so long but it was fun, we went to have breakfast our last breakfast after that we would leave and go back home finally the busses were already outside waiting for us after breakfast we said a little prayer for the road and off we went home, I slept through out the way woke up when we got to school at least when we got there my mom was already waiting for me, first thing I did when I go home went straight to bed
