Have you ever wondered how karma actually works? Because for some people who had been done so wrong by a figure that, in public knowledge, was supposed to be trusted blindly, the so-called karma kept on attacking these poor people instead. Me being one of them.

It was Friday night, I was actually very happy at first because me and my friend, Hyunjin, had a brilliant idea to get the famous for its delicious taste, that was the blueberry cheesecake from the suddenly reopened back cafe called 'Coffee Shop', I know, so literal, at 9 pm-ish instead of waiting in the impossibly long line during the day.

"Don't you think they would have run out of it by now? You know, if I think about it again this isn't even that good of an idea." Hyunjin shivered a little bit and pulled his dark green jacket tighter.

It was almost winter but guess we both did not think it would be this cold yet. "Too late, Hyunjinie, we didn't walk fifteen minutes to back out ten steps away from heaven's gate." I rolled my eyes. "Besides, I'm sure they have some other delicious menu, let's keep up the good spirit!" I skipped the few steps ahead to see that we were right, no line. "At least there aren't.."

That was when I saw it. Nichkhun, my sister's soon to be husband, grinning ear to ear while talking to a woman in front of the cafe. "What is wrong with you I almost bump–"

Hyunjin frowned at me then looked for the cause of my sudden stop. "That's Tiffany's fiancé." I half whispered to him.

He looked at Nichkhun, still grinning to the woman, not noticing our presence among the bypassers. "Ah, shouldn't we say hi then?" Before Hyunjin could take a step I grabbed his arm and turned my back to face him instead when Nichkhun's line of view was shifted to our direction.

"Is he looking at us? Don't look at him– pretend we're talking."

"Why?"

"I have my suspicions–"

"Jimin, you always are suspicious of men."

"And I was right! Look, he's here with some gorgeous woman." I peeked at them again to make sure he hadn't noticed us. I couldn't see the woman he was talking to because she was facing Nichkhun, but damn even her back looked nice with her brown, long, wavy hair moving by the wind. This woman must have been a cold hearted, and bodied, bitch, if she was seeing someone's fiancé and wearing that kind of dress on this chilly night. "I'm telling you this is an affair." I looked back at Hyunjin.

Hyunjin sighed, "Maybe they're friends who's hangin– oof maybe they are having an affair." His eyes widened and he looked away.

Turning my head so fast just in time to see the woman's head moving back after I assumed a kiss. My jaw dropped and I was gonna walk right up to them when Hyunjin covered my mouth and dragged me back away by grabbing my waist. I guess I made a sound because the woman who was just about to enter a taxi, froze, looked back, and her green eyes narrowed at us while Nichkhun's back was on us, holding the taxi's door open for her.

"Calm down, don't make a scene." Hyunjin whispered while still dragging me away slowly, earning a few glances towards us. "It's better to talk to Tiffany first so they can sort it out themselves, remember what happened last time."

Last time, huh.

As I mentioned before, the same karma kept happening. I'm Yu Jimin, that was my mother's family name because my father was far away from the picture. Ten years ago when I was twelve, my father shamelessly left my mother after she found out that he had been cheating on her for years with a much younger woman, or should I say women? Yes, multiple women.

Since then, my mother had to take care of me and my older sister alone. It was not that we were financially struggling, my grandparents always offered to help too, because they apparently had hated my father from the start, but it did not mean his absence wouldn't hurt us, especially my mother.
