Weeks had passed since then, now proper snow was covering Seoul's city streets. After that life-changing Saturday with Ryujin, not only did our kind of friendship get better, my day to day routine also changed. I decided if Ryujin wasn't going to tell me about this fake woman, I was gonna do it myself.
I didn't tell Hyunjin anything, I figured it was better since I knew he talked about personal stuff to Ryujin, and truthfully, I felt a little bit awkward with him after that thing Ryujin told me about Hyunjin. So, I had been avoiding him as much as I could. Didn't mean it wasn't lonely and that he wasn't complaining about how we hang out less and less everyday though.
I had been busy with classes and of course, visiting the Coffee Shop almost everyday. And almost every time too, I ran up to Ryujin there. She wasn't the usual regular who dropped by to get something because they like the menu there though, it seemed more like.. She lived there.
Perhaps she came whenever she didn't have classes and went home when it was time for the cafe to close. True to Ryujin's words, Minjeong didn't show her face a lot, seemed very shy, and even though I hated to admit it, I realized she was really attractive the more I saw her show her face.
The biggest purpose I went there, that was to catch Nichkhun red handedly cheating, had not happened yet. In the end, I knew I was right, the doubt from Ryujin's idea that was suggesting that Minjeong was not guilty, and probably was a victim or Nichkhun's too, disappeared. She must have recognized me, got scared and told Nichkhun not to come when I was there. But one thing for sure was sooner or later, I would catch them and that exact second I would drag them to beg for my sister's forgiveness before beating them both up. With something, I'm not sure yet.
My class was done for today, it was four pm in the afternoon and I was going to do my mission again, hopefully Ryujin was busy today. Walking to the Coffee Shop, I checked my phone and saw that I had messages from Hyunjin, as I was about to open it, a screen popped up.
"Ah.." Tiffany was calling me. I slowed my pace, and picked up the call. "Hi, sist!"
No voice was heard for a bit, until I could hear a sigh. "What is it now.."
"What? What is what?"
"You're doing that again."
"Doing what again?" I chuckled nervously.
"Nevermind, you'll tell me when it's time. You were acting weird last week too, I hope nothing is seriously wrong."
"Everything's fine, everything's great." I did not sound convincing at all. It was not that I couldn't lie, I just barely succeeded when it came to my sister. Especially about this matter.
"Fine, I'm calling to tell you that dinner is off tonight." She sounded exhausted.
I switched my phone to my other hand and frowned, "Is Nichkhun busy again?"
"Jimin, stop it. It's not Nichkhun, mom said she can't make it." Oh surprise, surprise. "And well, yeah, Nichkhun is on a business trip, but I told you last time." What kind of business trip took this long? "Don't."
"..What?"
"I know what you're thinking but it's not, it's a business trip."
Poor dumb people in love, believing every single lie on a plastic plate, "I didn't say anything!"
"I didn't say you said anything either." I could hear her irritation just by her voice. "You wanna come over still? I'll cook?" She offered.
"Sure, you're still at work tho? I could hear all those papers in the background."
She chuckled, "Yeah, just grading some papers, I'll be done soon. See you at 7?"
