❖Chapter 18❖
Akshara covered her eyes with her hands and withdrew them. "Ah."
Ranav giggled, clapping his hands. She laughed while repeating the act. Ranav giggled again. She picked him up, kissing him on the right cheek, then the left as he giggled. She loved her baby so much.
"Mummy," Abhir entered the room with Mahira.
"Chachi, can we go out to play?" Mahira asked.
"Yeah, but make sure to return before the sun sets." Akshara warned them.
Abhir glanced at his baby brother. Ranav layed on the bed kicking his legs in the air. Abhir walked to the bed standing at the end. He said, "I changed my mind. I want to play with my brother first. Can I?" he pleaded with puppy eyes that had its own charm working on his mom.
"Theek hai. Get up on the bed first." Her eyes wandered to where Mahira stood. "You also come, Beta."
Mahira's eyes gleamed as she walked and carefully got up on the bed, not wanting to disturb her cousin.
Ranav looked at them and then shifted his attention to his mother. Abhir and Mahira tried to grab his attention by making silly faces, which worked in their favour. Half an hour later, Ranav started yawning.
"He wants to sleep. Tum dono bahar ja ke khelo. And after you come back, do your homework," Akshara said.
"Okay, Mumma."
"Okay, Chachi."
The duo got off the bed and ran outside. Akshara picked Ranav up and placed him on her bosom, giving him skin-to-skin contact while patting and humming until he fell asleep in his mother's embrace.
(A/N: I loved writing this scene. What are your thoughts? 💭 )
When she heard soft snores, she slowly and carefully put Ranav in his cradle and tucked him in. Turning on the baby monitor, she walked to the door and slowly opened and closed it. She entered the living room, put the baby monitor on the coffee table, and sat beside Abhinav.
"He slept?" her mother-in-law asked. She was sitting in an armchair.
"Ji," Akshara replied.
"Beta, toh tumne kya socha hai? Abhinav ke saath Udaipur jao gi tum?" Paritosh asked.
Akshara hesitated before replying. "I'm not sure, Papa. I want to go, but I'm scared to face my family."
What will she say if Badi Maa and Badhe Papa spot her there? Will she say she got married right away after her divorce? And then the confrontation with Abhimanyu and his family. She can't let Abhimanyu know Abhir is his child. He is one of the twins who survived.
"But, Beta, you have to face them one day. How long will you make them wait? Were they the ones who blamed you? No, right? Phir unko itni badi saza kyun?" Paritosh said.
"Hmm." She had decided to muster the courage to attend Iravan Bhai's wedding and meet her family.
⁂
A month passed, and Nishita and Iravan's engagement is Today, followed by the rest of the wedding rituals as the shubh muhurat was this week. The couple tying the knot had no problem, nor did their parents, but the relatives were another story. They were annoyed at the date being this close and them being notified with a limited amount of time.
The Birla Mansion was getting ready like a bride. The workers put on the flower arrangements while the wedding planner guided them. Aahana checked the decorations and everything the fifth time while the preperation was going on. She wanted everything to be perfect as it humanly can be.
In Abhirohi's room, Roohi was clad in a beautiful baby pink frock embellished with gemstones. Her hair was open with bangs and pink glittery hair clips on both sides. The kid was sitting on the bed, passing time though playing Candy Crush on her poppy's tablet. At the same time, Aarohi was applying kohl on her water line. She wore a blue sari with flower embellishments on the borders of the blouse and sari.
Abhimanyu entered his room and was lost in the sight of the two beautiful loves of his life smiling at him.
Aarohi never knew Abhimanyu could look this good. Her heart skipped a beat as he entered the room. He was wearing a blue tuxedo with blue gemstone cuff links. His hair raked with gel, enhancing his look.
At the same time, Abhimanyu's eye's couldn't leave Aarohi's. She looked stunning. He came closer to look at her clearly. Her eyes were coated in black and her lips were coated in a brown coloured lipstick.
He averted his gaze to his daughter. He sat beside her and kissed her on the cheek as she played on the tablet. "Roohi toh bohut beautiful lag rahe hai."
Roohi's eyes sparkled. She looked up and smiled shyly mumbling a thank you and hugging Abhimanyu.
Abhimanyu grabbed the tablet from her lap on put it on the mattress, while hugging Roohi. A moment later, they heard a knock. Aarohi gave permission to enter. Shivansh entered and said, "Ruh, A ballon boy has come, let's buy some balloons, come I have money with me." He said in Hindi.
Abhimnayu helped her wear her sandals. He picked her up from the bed and make her stand on the floor. "Be careful, both of you." Abhimanyu warned them. They nodded and headed out.
While Abhimanyu focused on Aarohi. While, Aarohi picked up the gold kangans from the dresser and wore them on her wrist, she gazed at the mirror, where they both shared an eye lock.
Abhimanyu stood up and walked to the dresser. He picked up a packet of bindi's from there and picking a white one and put it on between her brows.
"Perfect." He whispered. Aarohi blushed.
She stood up and hugged him.
⁂
Iravan's family was welcomed by Mahima doing Iravan's aarti. He entered the house into the foyer and they walked over to the living hall. Everyone got seated and were given refreshments. Both families were conversating, enjoying.
A few minutes later, a few families were welcomed. The grooms family were happy seeing them, while the Goenka Family and Birla family were shocked.
"Akshara." Aarohi mumbled.
