In the bustling city of Schozart, amid the chaos of the market and the continuous flux of people, was a young man running towards the city's biggest library. Once he entered the library, he was greeted with the harsh words of the librarian.
"If it isn't Mr. Larion?", said the librarian.
"Hello, Mr. Harmen, I hope you will forgi-", Larion said while trying to catch his breath.
"You are late!", Harmen banged his desk with a heavy book in his hand.
"Uh! Um! Uh!"
"What? Can't find an excuse or the cat's got your tongue?"
"Can't find an excuse!", Larion smiled hesitantly. "Although, it's not an excuse Mr. Harmen. I went to my grandfather. You know who he is and about his health?"
"Oh, I know him. Even though I greatly respect your father, don't mind me Larion, I don't like your grandfather. He is nothing but a crooked magician."
"Hey!"
"Don't you 'hey' me, you, you... Sigh!" Harmen exhaled all his breath and took a deep breath in. "Larion, your father and I are a good friend. But that man, your grandfather-my friend's father, has done nothing for him. You know that! Yet, you listen to all his lies about magic and magicia-"
"But Mr. Harmen, you have seen his shows before, and even you were a big fan of him. My father has told me you were always the first one to buy his show's ticket."
"Yes, that was years ago, before I got to know about his craziness of putting his own wife into a chamber and evaporating her just to show a bit of new magic. You know how much your father has suffered after that. You were a small kid at that time."
"Umm! But my grandmother is not dead. My grandfather has shown me this time that he and she still talk to this day."
"Enough with your lies!"
"It's not a lie!!"
"If it's not a lie then it's a hallucination! Your grandfather is old and doesn't understand what's real and what's not."
"But-"
"No, buts. Now, hand me the book and leave."
Larion gave the book he was holding. Harmen after typing a few keys on the keyboard glared at Larion.
"After two and half months...! Why did you even bother to return this book? You should have kept it." Harmen smiled, but it looked like he was just about to pop his vein. Larion, smartly, didn't say a word.
"You can go now."
"I, I need another book."
"No shit!" Harmen waved his hand. "But remember, you are not allowed to take any book from the magic department. You are restricted from there by your father's and strictly, my order."
"Yes, I will remember that." Larion bowed and went to the corner of the city's biggest library's hall. The library, known as 'The City's Birthplace' contained not only thousands of books about various subjects, but it also contained books about various types of magic, ancient arts, and Schozart's history. Out of all the subjects, people were most crazy about Schozart's history. Every year, hundreds of people used to come here to get research materials on the city's origins and the arts of magic. However, not many people have been able to understand any of these.
It's not that there were not enough books about that, but sometimes it was the language that was so ancient that not a single person could understand it, or many other times, as said by researchers, there were no words written on the pages. They were blank, at least, that's what the people believed. However, as of now, Larion would make a discovery, with his grandfather's and father's help.
