I couldn't help but chuckle as Aiyden spun the tale of the get-together. His face was as bright as a kid on Christmas morning.
Elder Ruth and Henry's involvement in the shenanigans was a curveball, but Emily and Jadyn? That was as predictable as a sitcom rerun.
They were like two peas in a pod, always ready for the next adventure, always ready to crack a joke. Jadyn had a knack for keeping things lively with his playful antics.
Branden-lee taming the Omega? Now, that's a sitcom I'd love to watch. But the cherry on top was Aiyden's recount of Branden-lee and Manuel being reluctant babysitters to their drunken mates, rescuing them with over-the-shoulder service.
It was a sight that would've made any comedy show pale in comparison and one that Javier and I had the pleasure of witnessing on our way back to the apartment.
The sheer joy of seeing such a hilarious scene unfold was genuinely entertaining.
After all the talking and laughing, I made my mate rest while I stayed wide awake, watching him sleep like a creep.
A couple of hours later, Javier's voice echoed in my mind, 'Marcos, the Alphas and their mate, along with their warriors, have arrived.'
Aiyden stirred from his sleep, his eyes slowly opening as he murmured, "Are we leaving?"
I hushed him gently, "Rest, my love. You need it."
But he was resolute, "I must be there to greet the new Lunas." Rising from the bed, he stretched, the bedspread slipping from his form.
He met my gaze, asking me to prepare for the day while he freshened up. His voice held a note of concern as he asked, "How are Halian and Dylan adjusting to their new roles as Luna?"
I shrugged, uncertain, "I can't say for sure, but I believe they're managing well with Avery and Benjamin's guidance." With a nod, he disappeared into the bathroom. Forty minutes later, we were on our way to meet the newcomers.
Our friends and the Elders, including Elder Jonas, welcomed us as we arrived outside the Pack House. Javier, Trayvon, Manuel, and Alex were already present.
Even Alpha Eilam had arrived much sooner than we had anticipated. After our initial greetings, the atmosphere grew tense due to Alpha Avery and Lucas's interactions.
Fortunately, Elder Jonas intervened, soothing the agitated Alpha.
Despite the amusement of the others, Alpha Avery wasn't amused.
Aiyden, his brother, and Elder Ruth left to meet the Omegas. They planned to visit the hospital later to check on Johnson.
The remaining warriors mingled with Eric, Damien, Greg, Aaron, Emily, and Dalia as Manuel and Alex were scheduled for our upcoming meeting. Xander was already engrossed in his computer work in the conference room.
