Sea Fairy, ever reclusive, stood in the Tower of Waves. Her dress, crafted from the very essence of the sea, was ever-flowing, ever-changing. It moved with a life of its own, mimicking the rhythm of the tides. Sea Fairy looked out of the tower, watching the waves as they crashed against the rocks below. She had always felt at home by the sea as if it were an extension of herself.
In her hands, she held a letter. The parchment was worn, the ink smudged slightly by the touch of her watery fingers, but the words remained clear. It was from Sophia, a human girl with eyes like the earth and freckles like constellations scattered across her cheeks. Sophia, who loved BookTok books, the laughter of friends, and her cat Milo.
The message was simple. Sophia wrote: "I miss you. Meet me at the pier at 6 pm."
The two arrived right on time and met in a warm embrace.
"Sea Fairy, I missed you so much." Sophia smiled, "Why don't we have a sleepover, just like old times?"
The Sea Fairy smiled, "I've missed you too, Sophia. Let's make this night one to remember."
As they walked along the pier, the two riends fell into easy conversation, but as the twilight deepened, Sophia's questions took a strange turn.
"Do you... do you talk to any other people who happen to be lesbian?"
"Yes, I do. Why do you ask?"
Sea Fairy tilted her head, her watery hair rippling like the surface of a disturbed pond.
Sophia's expression tightened, her eyes darkening with an emotion the Sea Fairy couldn't quite place. "Because I can't risk losing you."
Sea Fairy sensed some malice emerge from Sophia's voice and laughed through her discomfort. "Lose me? You're not going to lose me. You can trust me, Sophia."
But Sophia, the Minecraft wizard, would not take that for an answer. She reached into her bag and pulled out her Nintendo Switch.
The screen flickered to life, casting an eerie glow over her determined face.
"Sophia, what are you doing?" she asked,
Sophia's' fingers moved, navigating through the game's menus. But as she tried to load up her world, the screen flashed an error message: "Unable to join. Check your connection. "Shit," Sophia muttered under her breath.
Tori took my Nintendo Switch charger. I need to do this fast.
Sophia tried again, her fingers flying over the controls. Finally, the game loaded, and Sea Fairy could see the familiar blocky landscape of Minecraft.
Sophia navigated to the command console with an almost desperate speed. She began to type:
"/kill @e[type=lesbian]".
In the game, the screen flashed with the deaths of countless characters. But outside, the world seemed to ripple and twist. The Sea Fairy gasped as she felt a deep, inexplicable shift as if an unseen chord had been cut from the fabric of existence.
"Sophia, what have you done?" the Sea Fairy cried, her voice echoing like the crashing waves.
Sophia's face twisted with a strange, fierce determination. "I made sure you'll never leave me, with no more lesbians than you don't have a choice," she said, her voice a chilling whisper. "You're mine, and mine alone."
Sea fairy's heart fluttered like a seabird trapped in a tempest.
She stepped back. "You... you killed all my friends! Are you insane?"
"I am. 😈" Sophia said, "Now, let's have that sleepover,"
Sea Fairy hesitated, her anger and fear warring within her. She knew Sophia loved her deeply, but the threat hanging in the air chilled her to the core. Gathering herself, she forced a calm tone, though her heart raced with uncertainty.
