The first light of dawn peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the modest Sharma household in the bustling city of Delhi. Birds chirped cheerily, marking the start of another day. Inside the house, the aroma of freshly brewed chai mingled with the sounds of morning rituals – the clinking of utensils, the murmurs of prayer, and the buzz of family members getting ready for the day ahead.

Akshara Sharma, a spirited seventeen-year-old, sat cross-legged on her bed, scribbling furiously in her notebook. Her fiery red hair framed her face, her emerald green eyes focused intently on her work. Despite the early hour, Akshara was already deep into her studies. She was determined to escape the confines of her middle-class life and achieve something extraordinary.

"Akshara , breakfast is ready!" her mother called from the kitchen.

"I'm coming, Ma!" Akshara replied, finishing her last sentence before closing her notebook. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for another day of balancing her dreams with the realities of her family's struggles.

The Sharma household was a joint family, a blend of generations living under one roof. Akshara 's parents, her grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins all shared the space, creating a lively and sometimes chaotic environment. At the heart of this bustling family was paati, Akshara 's grandmother, whose wisdom and warmth kept everyone grounded.

As Akshara joined her family at the breakfast table, she couldn't help but notice the lines of worry etched on her father's face. Financial difficulties had been a constant shadow over their lives, and the burden seemed to grow heavier each day.

"Good morning, everyone," Akshara greeted, trying to infuse some cheerfulness into the room.

"Good morning, princess," her father replied, managing a small smile. "Did you sleep well?"

Akshara nodded, though in truth, her nights were often restless with thoughts of the future. "Yes, dad. I was just finishing some notes for school."

Her mother placed a plate of parathas in front of her. "Eat well, Akshara . You need your strength."

Akshara smiled gratefully, but her mind was already racing ahead to the day's classes and assignments. She had always been a top student, and she knew that education was her ticket to a better life. Her grandmother, paati, had instilled this belief in her from a young age.

After breakfast, as Akshara was getting ready to leave for school, paati called her over. "Akshara , come sit with me for a moment."

Akshara joined her grandmother on the veranda, the morning sun casting a gentle glow on patti's wrinkled but wise face. "Yes, paati?"

paati took Akshara 's hand in hers. "Akshu, I see the fire in your eyes. You have big dreams, and I know you will achieve them. But remember, the path to success is never easy. You will face many challenges, but you must stay strong and never lose hope. " Akshu remembers one thing " The more a diamond endures intense pressure, The more.... It scintillates with incomparable lustre!"

Akshara nodded, her eyes shining with determination. "I vow with a steadfast heart, No force shall hinder me, paati."

paati smiled, a look of pride in her eyes. "That's my girl-shine bright and make us proud." Now go.

With her grandmother's words echoing in her mind, Akshara set off for school. The journey was long and tiring, but it gave her time to think about her future. She dreamed of becoming a successful engineer, of earning enough to support her family and give them a life free from financial worries.

At school, Akshara 's focus was unwavering. She immersed herself in her studies, participating actively in class discussions and excelling in her exams. Her teachers recognized her potential and often praised her dedication and hard work.

However, despite her academic success, Akshara 's temper sometimes got the better of her. She was fiercely protective of her family and her dreams, and any hint of disrespect or doubt from others would ignite her anger. This fiery nature often led to clashes with her peers, and even with her teachers at times.

One afternoon, as Akshara was working on a project in the school library, she overheard a group of girls talking about her.

"She thinks she's better than us just because she's the top student," one girl sneered.

"Yeah, she's so full of herself," another added.

Akshara felt a surge of anger. She stood up, her chair scraping loudly against the floor. "If you have something to say, say it to my face," she snapped.

The girls looked startled, then quickly turned away, muttering under their breath. Akshara clenched her fists, trying to calm herself. She knew she needed to control her temper, but it was easier said than done.

That evening, back at home, Akshara confided in her grandmother about the incident. "paati, why do people always try to bring others down? Why can't they just let me be?"

paati listened patiently, then gently stroked Akshara 's hair."Jealousy and insecurity often fuel their words, my dear. Rise above the noise and stay true to your dreams. Let their whispers drift away like leaves on the wind."

Akshara nodded, feeling a bit better. Her grandmother always knew how to soothe her troubled mind.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Akshara 's journey was filled with both triumphs and challenges. She continued to excel in her studies, earning scholarships and accolades, but the financial strain on her family showed no signs of easing.

Then, one day, the family received devastating news. paati had fallen ill, and despite their best efforts, she passed away peacefully in her sleep. The loss was a heavy blow to the Sharma household. paati had been the glue that held them together, and her absence left a void that seemed impossible to fill.

As the family gathered to mourn and perform the last rites, Akshara felt a deep sense of loss. She missed her grandmother's comforting presence, her wisdom, and her unwavering support."The scent of old books, the fragrance of that one perfume, and that particular song all remind me of the moments I shared with you, paati," Akshara whispered, her heart heavy with longing.

But amid the sorrow, Akshara made a silent vow to herself. She would honour paati's memory by achieving her dreams, no matter how difficult the path ahead.

With renewed determination, Akshara threw herself into her studies and part-time jobs, working tirelessly to support her education and help her family. She faced numerous obstacles, but she refused to give up. Her journey was far from over, and she was ready to face whatever challenges came her way.
