Chapter I: Then End and the Beggining

The city was wrecked, sky all yellow and orange. Kaito walked alone through the mess of the ruins of a war-torn city, streets crunching under his feet.  He barely recognized himself in a broken window – skinny, worried, eyes as grey as storm clouds.

Kaito forgot everything. Reaching for memories brought only pain, like grabbing at hot coals. He'd died countless times, only to wake up cold and alone in this wrecked city. His past was a shattered mirror, showing him nothing but confusing pieces of who he might have been.

Maybe today was different. The usual ache in his head was less painful, a tiny spark of hope. Maybe somewhere in these forgotten streets, a clue would appear, a whisper of his lost life. He pushed deeper into the city, the only sound the wind blowing through broken windows.

Out of nowhere, a flash of movement! A figure shot out of a doorway, vanishing like a ghost into the crumbling buildings. Intrigued, Kaito gave chase. The hunt was brief, slamming to a halt in a dead-end alley. There, cornered, stood a young man – all wiggly limbs, wild eyes, and a face with multiple scars.

Kaito'a rusty voice spoke and said, "Who are you? And what do you want from me?"

The young man flinched, his scared face twisting further. "Zonzon," he said boldly, "I wasn't after you, I swear!”

Kaito wasn't buying it. The alley was tight, and Zonzon could have easily run past him. But instead of talking, Zonzon suddenly lunged at Kaito.

Zonzon struck fast, a barrage of punches and a few kicks aimed at Leon's legs. Caught by surprise, Kaito threw up his arms to block, a throbbing pain shooting up his arm.

Zonzon kept fighting, wild and relentless. A nasty cut, enough to show the cheek bones on his face healed right up in front of Kaito. It was bizarre, but zonzon wasn't strong enough to beat Kaito.

Kaito fought back. He landed a punch square on Zonzon's jaw, sending zonzon reeling.

Before Zonzon could recover, Kaito used his reach to his advantage. He threw Zonzon right into the crumbling wall, feeling a surge of power for the first time since he woke up in this messed-up city.

Kaito almost had him. But Zonzon, eyes wild and defiant, lunged forward. Zonzon lunged again. This time, he held a weapon, a nasty blade shaped from his own blood, somehow hardened like bone.

Kaito barely had time to react, a searing pain exploding in his shoulder as the blade sank in. He roared, fueled by a rush of adrenaline that pushed past the agony.

The fight raged on, a bloody brawl under the fading light. Though wounded, Kaito fought like a cornered beast, his size and strength giving him an edge. Zonzon, with his freaky healing and never-ending fight, wouldn't go down easy.

Kaito was getting tired, but he spotted a chance. With a powerful kick, he knocked the bizarre blood-blade flying. Then, he slammed his knee right into Zonzon's chest, forcing a surprised gasp.

Zonzon wheezed, collapsing onto the dusty ground. Kaito stood there, breathing hard, sweat stinging his eyes, the ache in his head a dull throb. He stared down at zonzon, his own blood drenching on his shirt. Even though he won, a knot of worry tightened in his stomach. This messed-up city held way more mysteries than he thought. Maybe, just maybe, this beat-up kid held some of the answers Kaito was so desperately searching for.

"You're strong, and I respect that." Zonzon said lightly, a hint of grudging respect in his voice. "But this city is different… it changes you. It twists and destroys you. You haven't seen the real freaks yet."

Kaito with an annoyed look. "What are you talking about?”

Extra Info:

Backstory about The City: Azoth wasn't always a desolate wasteland. It was once a bustling metropolis, a testament to a forgotten civilization obsessed with the whispers of the past.  They believed the city itself was built upon a nexus, a point where the veil between the living world and the spirit realm was thinnest.  Azothians, as they were called, practised a unique blend of history and necromancy, attempting to commune with the spirits of those long gone.

Zonzon's Current abilities
- Regeneration: can heal rapidly from injuries. Deep cuts mend in seconds, and even broken bones can knit themselves back together within minutes.

- Blood Weaponry: can manipulate its own blood, hardening it into sharp blades, spikes, or even projectiles. This blood can solidify incredibly quickly and is surprisingly durable.

- Pain Suppression: Zonzon seems to have a high tolerance for pain, allowing it to fight with incredible ferocity even while heavily injured.

Weakness of Zonzon's ability
- Blood Loss: Excessive blood loss can overwhelm its healing ability.

- Flame: Burning his skin to an extent can result in his regeneration ability to slow down

- Freezing Temperatures: Can bypass the regeneration, causing more permanent injuries.
