The Talk

When you have the talk.

Sitting cross-legged on the bed, you were deeply engrossed in Orphan, your eyes glued to the screen. The suspenseful music had you on edge, and you jumped when the door suddenly opened. In your fright, the remote slipped from your hands and hit the floor with a clatter, batteries scattering.

You sighed in relief when you saw Heeseung standing in the doorway, his usual mischievous grin in place. "I told you not to watch horror movies," he teased, bending down to pick up the batteries.

"Sorry, I didn't hear you come in," you apologized, scrambling to find the other battery.

Heeseung handed it to you, chuckling. "See? This is why you should stick to rom-coms." He inserted the batteries into the remote and plopped down on the bed, patting the space beside him. "Come here."

You joined him, your heart still racing a bit from the scare. He paused the movie and turned to you, a serious expression replacing his playful one. "I need to talk to you about something."

You narrowed your eyes suspiciously but nodded. "Okay, what's up?"

Heeseung took a deep breath. "We've been together for a while now, right? And we've talked about the future—getting married, having kids."

You nodded, unsure where this was going.

"I just... I don't know if I'm the right person for that. I'm always on tour, always busy. I feel like I'm already doing a bad job at being your boyfriend."

Your heart sank at his words, but you quickly shook your head. "Heeseung, you're not a bad boyfriend. I know your schedule is hectic, but I'm okay with it. I love you, and I support you."

He looked unconvinced. "Are you sure? Because sometimes I feel like you're just saying that to make me feel better."

You threw your hands up in exasperation. "What should I lie about? That I don't miss you when you're away? Of course I do. But that doesn't mean you're not perfect for me."

Heeseung's serious demeanor cracked, a smile tugging at his lips. "Perfect, huh? I think you're just biased."

"Biased? Maybe," you teased. "But it's true."

He leaned closer, his breath tickling your ear. "You know, if you keep saying sweet things like that, I might have to kiss you."

You blushed, trying to play it cool. "Oh, really? Is that a threat or a promise?"

"Why don't you find out?" he whispered, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

You tried to escape, but he caught your arm, pulling you back towards him. "Where do you think you're going?" he asked, a playful glint in his eye.

"Um, anywhere but here?" you said, giggling nervously.

Heeseung shook his head, laughing softly. "Nope, you're staying right here." He cupped your face in his hands, his gaze softening. "I love you, and I promise I'll always do my best for us, no matter what."

You smiled, your heart swelling with affection. "I know you will. And I'll always be here, supporting you."

He kissed you then, a gentle, lingering kiss that made your heart race for an entirely different reason. When he pulled away, he rested his forehead against yours. "Thank you for believing in me."

"Always," you whispered back.

"Now, let's finish this movie," he said, grabbing the remote. "And maybe afterwards, we can watch something less scary?"

You laughed, snuggling into his side. "Sounds like a plan."

As the movie resumed, you felt a sense of contentment wash over you. No matter the challenges, you knew you and Heeseung would face them together, one step at a time.
