Caroline Forbes and Tyler Lockwood were due to be sacrificed in Klaus Mikaelson's ritual.
The hybrid needed a werewolf, a vampire, and a human doppelgänger.
When Caroline was saved, Elena's aunt Jenna was turned. When Tyler was saved, his sister Blair was turned.
Klaus had gotten her off vervain days prior. He always had a backup plan. So, when she helped save her brother from being sacrificed, she signed her own death sentence-and another's-Klaus compelled her to trigger her werewolf curse.
Blair Lockwood's hair mangled with the dying fall foliage under the smoky night sky. She was unconscious, she was a sitting duck waiting to die on an alter. Ready to be sacrificed.
Inaudible groaning came from a woman nearby, "my head-what's wrong with me?"
"Do you remember what happened?" A girl carefully inquired.
"You called me...you were so scared." The woman let her sentence dwell out loud for a moment, realizing her stupidity, she seethed lightly suppressing a regretful laugh. "I should've realized that it wasn't-that it wasn't you," she took a sharp breath as if she was in pain, "the second I walked out of the house someone grabbed me...a vampire."
The girl sighed after hearing the woman's story, "Klaus, it was Klaus." she sounded defeated.
"He made me drink his blood. and I, I don't. I don't remember anything after that...where are we? What happened?" The woman's breathing sped up, she audibly heaved in distress.
"We're at the quarry. He brought us here."
"Why don't I remember anything?!"
"Jenna, do you remember...when I told you how someone becomes a vampire?"
"Yeah, if you die with vampire blood in your system, it's..." the woman answered quickly, eager to get to the point, until she stopped. Again reveling in her own stupidity. "Oh god... he killed me!," the woman cried.
"Jenna, listen to me. everything is going to be okay-I'm gonna get you out of here." She spoke cautiously as if she was scared that someone could hear her.
They were like two inmates planning a great escape.
"I'm a vampire?!" The woman clearly didn't care for the girls words. She was in shock, she was transitioning.
"And I bet you're hungry." A new voice came into earshot of Blair, a new additive for her barely aware mind to listen to.
A gush of wind was heard, along with a girl screaming and hitting the ground with a thud.
Blair's eyes opened a sliver, just enough to see the dead grass around her engulfed with flames. She was too weak to care. She was completely still, watching a witch raise her hands, making flames in circles of three.
"Don't bother trying to get through. I spelled the circle. You're trapped...no matter what you do."
"Greta, please, just let her go."
Elena tried to bargain, though it appeared the witch was indifferent. She sliced her wrist, egging on the strawberry blonde. The woman in transition. The one who needed to feed in order to be of any use to Klaus's ritual.
"Klaus chose her."
"No." Elena shook her head profusely.
"Drink it."
"Jenna don't!"
Whatever happened next Blair didn't hear. She felt a sudden surge go up her spine, she felt it travel to each of her nerves. Every bone in her body rattled. There was a crack, followed by screams.
"What's happening to me?!" Blair was suddenly very awake and aware of her surroundings.
"I cast a spell to slowdown your transformation. Your insides are trying to tear themselves free." The witch almost sounded proud.
Blair couldn't do anything other than scream as every bone took its sweet time breaking.
"Greta, witches are supposed to maintain the balance in nature. It's your duty to them-to keep this curse sealed."
"My duty is to Klaus! The new order."
"Glad to know I still have a dance partner." A seemingly calming voice chimed in. Almost appearing out of thin air. His voice sent chills down Blair's breaking spine.
He almost pitied her.
Though as greta began to chant, and grasped the moonstone, the ring of fire around Blair began to fade. She knew she was first. She had finally figured out she was just a means to an end.
Blair sat up, in excruciating pain. Though with this movement Klaus didn't try to stop her in any way. She assumed he enjoyed watching her squirm in pain, as her insides threatened to spill out. He looked at her like she was simply prey. She hated that diminishing look. Though she couldn't see them, her eyes had flared aureate, staring directly at Klaus, who noticed. So it was no surprise to him when the newfound werewolf charged towards him.
He tackled her with ease. Looking her in the eyes as his hands gripped her heart, quite literally. She could feel the flesh of her chest tear itself apart, her bones being broken as they were pushed to the side for him to take away her life. Her eyes watered when they met his. the pain was excruciating. She new she was going to die and the only thing she could think of was how weak she probably looked infront of him. He caressed her face for a brief moment, thanking her as if she had a choice, then ripped out her heart.
