It was a regular Saturday night, and the boys had gathered at Mully's place for their usual gaming session. Mully, Josh, Gaege, Eddie, and Narrator were all there, laughing and shouting at the screen as they played through the latest horror game.
"Alright, boys, I need a break," Gaege announced, putting his controller down. "Anyone up for some drinks?"
"I'm in," Eddie said, stretching his arms. Narrator nodded in agreement, and the three of them headed to the kitchen, leaving Mully and Josh in the living room.
Mully glanced at Josh, who was still focused on the game. "You gonna take a break too, mate?" he asked, nudging him with his elbow.
Josh looked up, a playful smirk on his face. "Nah, I'm good. I'll keep playing. Gotta beat your high score, remember?"
Mully chuckled. "Alright, but don't cry when you lose." He sat back down next to Josh, their shoulders brushing. The room suddenly felt a bit warmer.
As they played, Mully noticed Josh biting his lip in concentration, his eyes darting across the screen. There was something about the way Josh looked when he was focused that made Mully's heart race. He couldn't help but smile.
"You're terrible at this game, you know that?" Mully teased.
Josh rolled his eyes, but there was a hint of a smile on his lips. "Yeah, yeah. Keep talking, Mully."
The game's music grew intense as they reached a particularly creepy part. Mully could feel the tension in the air, but it wasn't just from the game. His hand brushed against Josh's, and neither of them pulled away.
Without thinking, Mully leaned in closer. Josh turned to face him, their noses almost touching. The world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them.
"Josh," Mully whispered, his voice barely audible.
"Yeah?" Josh replied, his eyes flickering down to Mully's lips.
In one swift motion, Mully closed the gap between them, pressing his lips to Josh's. For a moment, Josh froze, but then he melted into the kiss, his hands finding their way to Mully's shoulders.
Just then, the kitchen door swung open, and Eddie walked in with a tray of drinks. He stopped dead in his tracks, staring at Mully and Josh.
"Oi, what's going on here?" Eddie exclaimed, eyebrows raised. "Am I interrupting something?"
Mully and Josh pulled apart, both blushing furiously. Eddie smirked, setting the drinks down on the coffee table.
"I knew something was fishy when you two didn't follow us to the kitchen," Eddie said, shaking his head. "Well, spill it then. What's the story?"
Mully scratched the back of his head nervously, glancing at Josh. Josh shrugged, a sheepish grin spreading across his face.
"We, uh... we kissed," Josh admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
Eddie burst into laughter, clapping his hands together. "Finally! You fools took long enough!"
Mully and Josh exchanged a relieved glance, the tension easing out of the room.
"So, are we celebrating this or what?" Eddie asked, handing out the drinks.
As the night continued, Mully and Josh found themselves laughing and joking with their friends, grateful for Eddie's teasing and acceptance. And in the quiet moments between games, they stole glances at each other, knowing that this new chapter in their friendship was just beginning.
