btw, the first couple of chapters will NOT be 4x-centered

I will also alternate between gender and not gender-specific pronouns for the characters as it makes it easier for me to write (aka they and he/she) (I'm sorryyyy :,c)

Enjoy!! <3

Six didn't really know how they ended up in this situation.

But, now that they think back to it, it probably started with that weird berry they ate in the Equation Playground a couple of weeks ago.

--

Six was sitting under a tree in the Equation Playground, waiting for Nine to appear. Nine had promised to hang out with them today, and Six had a couple of ideas on what they wanted to do. They palmed at the fluffy grass underneath them, watching as some algebraliens socialized. They saw that weird variable-what was their name again? Oh right, X-approach Four with a bouquet of dandelions.

They also stared as Four took the bouquet and swallowed it whole.

Six sighed, shaking their head at the two.

Those two were both really, really stupid.

Six watched the other numbers for a while before a couple of leaves lightly tapped against their arm.

Six turned to his side to see a squirrel hiding in a berry bush, unbeknownst to the fact that it was being watched. Six reached out his hand toward the squirrel. However, the furry creature eventually noticed and fled up the trunk of the tree that Six was leaning on.

Six sighed as he watched the small animal scramble away, but he eventually turned their attention back to the berry bush.

They'd never seen it before. And they'd never seen this type of berry before either. It was a deep black that shimmered like a plum. It looked somewhat like a darker version of the Yoyle Berries that Four had brought to the playground once.

Six wrapped their hand around a handful of the berries, yanking them off their stems. He slices one open to see it is filled with black, gooey flesh.

Six stares at the handful of berries.

'Eh, what's the worst it'll do? ' Six thinks, popping the berries into his mouth. his eyes widened as he tasted it.

'Holy fuck these are delicious-' Six grabs another handful of berries, and soon the entire bush is empty of fruit.

'oops.' Six stares at the fruitless bush, feeling slightly sheepish for eating all the berries. They should've saved some for Nine-

"Hey, Six!" A voice calls. Six's gaze snaps up to the voice to see Nine running towards them with a basket in hand. Six smiles, standing up. Looks like he was in for a picnic.

--

Six watched from inside his own head as his body moved without them. It was kind of peaceful, not having to do anything. It probably would've been more peaceful if they didn't have to feel everything going on. He winced as their body carelessly ignored the shards of glass embedded in their leg. Six's mind flashed back to the source-

--

Six was awakened in the middle of the night by themselves. They watched in confusion and fear as, without his consent, his body broke through Nine's window and started running away from it.

Inside their own head, Six screeched at the pain of the glass in his leg being mercilessly ignored. However, whatever was controlling his body seemingly felt no pain. He watched through his own eyes as they speeded farther away from Nine's cozy house and as his vision blurred from an onslaught of exhausted tears.

'Great, I can still cry. The one thing I can still do, and it's not even helpful!' Six growled in his empty mindscape.

Speaking of which, he looked around the dark cyan of his mindscape.

They should really decorate, shouldn't they?

--

Six were knocked out of their recollection of memories by an especially sharp stab of pain. The pain in their leg had been numbed out by them since they had gotten used to it. But pinpricks squeezed their way in now and then, probably because their wound was most likely infected by now.

Six repulsed in disgust as his body got on all fours and sniffed the ground. The scent of grass and dirt came to him through the mindscape as he gagged.

However, they felt a wide grin on what was now their shared face, and the realization hit them:

They were being used to hunt.

Andd that's it!

I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. I don't have a lot of experience in writing, so I'm  not sure how good it was -_-"'
