"My daughter!!"
My father stands by the foyer in his home, holding onto the roses he must've gotten for me
His excitement shows once I've entered his house, bringing his arms out with the bouquet of roses in hand
From what I remember, I haven't seen him in two months, he's been in and out of Korea for his work that he couldn't spend time with me
Like I said before, I did not mind it one bit because he always greets me like this and manages to pull through for me
I giggled, greeting him as I hugged him tightly
"I missed you" I smiled, enjoying the scent that he's always carried
"Look at you! Still short" I dropped my smile, giving my dad a blank face, watching him laugh at my reaction
"Whatever, thanks!" I took the bouquet of roses out of his hand, smelling them
He rolled his eyes, walking off while signaling for me to follow him
"Let's catch up hmm?" I sit down beside him in the dinning room, looking at all the food that's been prepared
"Jesus, you didn't have to put your maids through all the trouble, I only have one mouth dad" he chuckles, putting some food onto my plate
"Anything for my girl" I thanked him, digging into my food
"Gosh, why do you eat so slow" I scoffed at his words, no way he's already insulting me
"I got it from mother" I snickered, making him roll his eyes
"Well one thing I know for sure is that you look like me" he flicked his shoulder dramatically yet cockily
"I look like grandma actually- oh no Aunt Hani" I corrected him, pointing to my eyes that he didn't share with me
"Whatever, you got that through me either way" he shrugged, taking a bite of his food
"So tell me, has your mother done anything to you-"
"Dad" I warned him, not wanting him to intrude on my relationship with mother
"What? I can't help but worry that she might be giving you a hard time when I'm not around" he spoke in defense
I understand perfectly to why my father is like that, asking questions like that
