Tbh, Diavolo should've saw this coming...

Mephistopheles had gave him the news of higher-ups' dissatisfactory.

For years since the brothers fall from the Celestial Realm.

The House Of Lords did not trust them and still refuse to have the brothers pardoned for their actions.

Since Lucifer have given him the answer that he and his brothers had refused to work as Lords of the Seven Rings because they are still trying to work out their family issues.

"You're becoming too soft Diavolo. Your Father would be so ashamed of you!!!"

He remembered the awful messages one of the ancient lords left him on his D.D.D.

The fracture reminder of his father brought up bad memories...

Now the nobles want a War.

A war that shouldn't even be necessary. But yet, when people don't get what they want. They rebel.

Now it seems ever since the Paimon incident. TBF, Paimon was the one who ran the flames by provoking Mammon because it was technically due to House Of Lords' manipulation.

But it seems they had all fallen into their trap.

Because of course they wouldn't be satisfied with the brothers' answer.

He was overjoyed to actually have a happy ending, but  of course fate had other plans and thought, "Isn't that too good to be true?"

It seems so unlikely that they'd just forgive the attempted assassination of one of their nobles like that.

But of course, Paimon would rat Mammon out & go tell the other nobles.

He fear the ancient lords will also soon turn against him.

What happens if they learned he let one of his Avatars go on a paid leave for ten years?

Diavolo: If only this could've had an alternate ending where, after the dust settles...

Barbatos: So the brothers will still faces the consequences of their  actions. 

Diavolo: I am aware of that, Barbatos...but it's not their fault.

"It's mine" he wanted to say.

He was protecting them. Barbatos knew he was. Even if they didn't know but Lucifer and his brothers meant the world to Diavolo.

Without them or Barbatos. He would feel lonely.

But he knew he had to think about Devildom. He has think about his citizens. As their Prince, he will be forced to make sacrifices for the greater good.

Even if it means taking away the brothers' freedom once again.

Barbatos: They're willing to let the brothers cooperate...that's if they abide to their rules.

Diavolo: Barbatos. Get Lucifer on the line for me. Tell him it's urgent.

The steward leaves the office as Diavolo pulls up a hurt yet guilty expression.

No matter how many times the demon brothers will insist he had been deceived or justify their actions, the House Of Lord will simply could not accept any conditions that did not involve reparations for their refusal on not taking responsibility on maintaining a country they did not even know existed.
