Ship: Gunil x Jooyeon

"This is ridiculous Jiseok, I was a dumbass." Jooyeon muttered, his eyes falling to the ground. Jiseok hesitated for a second, he wasn't sure on what to say yet.

"You were sixteen back then. You're much smarter than then, not that it's hard to surpass." He muttered the last part, Jooyeon felt reassured and decided to finally knock on the door.

A young man that seemed to be in his early to mid twenties opened the door. He had a soft smile on his face, it hadn't changed one bit. But this time, Jooyeon had taken notice of it.

"Jooyeon..?" He asked, strangely enough, he sounded a bit hurt when uttering the name. Jooyeon felt his heart sink when hearing his name being called in such a way.

"Yeah, so uh, funny story," Jooyeon started, he lightly laughed, he exchanged glances with Jiseok who kicked his ankle to make him continue talking. "I got kicked out of my house," Gunil didn't even hear the reason but he already opened the door wider, letting him inside. Jooyeon was shoved in by his best friend, he bumped into Gunil because of the unexpected movement. "Sorry." He quickly apologised, cutting his story short.

"So why?" He asked, realising that he still didn't know why he was now in his house.

"Oh right, yeah, uh, I'm a — in the words of my father — fag. They told me to pack my stuff up immediately and leave." He said, he had a smile on a face, although this was not a very happy situation.

"So Lee Jooyeon who purposely ignored me because I liked guys, comes here a couple of years later because he likes guys. Love the switch up." Gunil said, Jooyeon awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck and followed him to the kitchen. Jiseok was still behind the two.

"I guess so, I mean, there's specifically one guy." Gunil felt his heart drop, he knew that it would be normal that Jooyeon liked someone. He knew it could never be him, because they barely talked nowadays. And more importantly the younger boy would ignore him most of the time.

"Well you should tell him, worst case scenario, he rejects you." Gunil said, the two began talking a bit more, it was the elder mostly carrying the conversation, like always.

Jiseok decided that it was time for him to go home soon, so he bid his goodbyes before leaving the apartment.

"So, do you like someone else? I mean, apart from me hyung." Jooyeon smirked, back in high school, everyone knew that Gunil had the biggest crush on him. The way he'd stare at him in the hallway was extremely obvious. The time he would spend in the upper hallway, by the railing just to see Jooyeon pass by was a bit concerning.

Jooyeon knew about his behaviour, at least a bit. But he would always make sure to ignore him, he was busy trying to be the most popular possible. He thought that staying with Gunil — no matter how much he wanted — would bring his reputation down.

Gunil had tons of sketches of him in his sketchbook. He still kept the sketchbook, although it was in the locked drawer of his night table. Now that Jooyeon was actually in his home he felt embarrassed, knowing that he had such drawings of him in the room just next to it.

"Not really to be honest." Gunil said, he kind of surprised himself with his honesty. But he was glad he got it off his chest.

"Hm.. so you still like me hyung?" Jooyeon said, Gunil noticed his bag, he realised he still had to unpack so he brought him to his room. Before being able to answer, Jooyeon scrunched up his face. "Do you not have a guest room?" He asked, he wasn't sure he actually wanted to share a bed with Gunil. "Oh you'll deal with it, I'm not that bad, c'mon!" Gunil ruffled his hair, Jooyeon shrugged, he was happy to at least be with someone who he knew. Knew was a bit of an exaggeration, but still.

"And yes, I still like you, I guess I should've moved on by now, but dude, you're mad attractive." Gunil admitted, being able to finally talk to him made him realise he only liked Jooyeon — until now —  because of his looks.

"I'm honoured." Jooyeon paused for a while, he looked at Gunil for a bit, who was behind him. He was feeling flustered because of being watched.

"I like you too hyung." He finally got out after a long silence, Gunil had to try to hide his surprise. He didn't want it to feel like some kind of big thing. Even if to him, it was a huge thing.

"What about the other guy?" Gunil asked, he wanted to be sure that he was actually liked by Jooyeon romantically. He heard the younger boy scoff before rolling his eyes.

"You're the only one dumbass." Jooyeon quickly apologised after letting the words sink in for a couple of seconds. "You're the only one hyung." He corrected himself, Gunil couldn't help but laugh. Hearing the older boy's laugh made him laugh as well.

"What would've happened if you talked to me in high school?" Gunil asked, he always wondered about things like these.

"Would've launched a butterfly effect." Jooyeon replied, obviously the future would've been completely different because of it. They maybe would've been together, or maybe they would've fallen out. But that was only left to speculation.

"Well, if you like me, and I like you, then can't we date now?" Gunil asked, he wanted to move from highly thought provoking and rhetorical questions. Jooyeon turned to him and smiled at him.

"You're right, I'll call you my boyfriend from now on!" Jooyeon said, he went up to Gunil and smiled at him, the latter smiled back.

"Can I kiss you? I've been waiting since high school." Gunil asked, Jooyeon nodded, the older boy cupped his face. The kiss was short, but it was sweet. It was everything that Gunil could've ever asked for. The years of waiting and shyness now felt worth it.

Ahaha finished writing this 10 minutes past midnight so I had to write the next date plus it explains how bad this one shot is, but hopefully you liked it!
