Murderous Paradise

I'm currently at work and sweating like crazy because of the heat outside. Los Angeles really is no joke in summer. Luckily my shift is almost done and I can go home and just do nothing for the rest of the day. I look at the clock behind me which reads 2:26 pm. Only 4 more minutes Madison you can do it.

I observe the people sitting at the cafeteria I'm working at until I hear the little bell over the door ringing which signals that a customer just came in.

"Hello what can I get-" I was about to say but when I looked up I saw my Friends Julian, Jake and Olivia. They smile at me and then Olivia speaks up "Hey Maddy how long until you finish work? We all wanted to meet to discuss something."

I look at the clock again and it's exactly 2:30 pm now. I smile and say "actually exactly now my shift is over. Just a moment" I rush into the back and take off the Apron I always need to wear and say bye to my coworkers before grabbing my bag and making my way outside where my Friends are waiting.

I take a quick glance at Jake and as always he is looking so handsome. His black fluffy hair is a little messy from the wind and his smile reveals the dimple on his left cheek which is so adorable. And don't even get me started on his beautiful brown eyes-

I quickly shake the thoughts out of my head when I realize I have been staring and then look at my Friends and smile "we will meet at my place. The others will also be there in some minutes" Olivia says as we make our way to our cars.

Jake and Julian drive with Olivia but I drive with my car so I start my car and then make my way to Olivia's place. She lives in an apartment on the 10th floor and to our luck the elevator needs to be repaired so we have no choice but to take the stairs.

By the time we reach the apartment I feel like I will collapse any minute. I really should work on my Stamina and go more often into the Gym. We go into Olivia's Apartment and the first thing we do is drink a glass of water and turn on the AC.

We sit down on the couch and I let out a heavy sigh. "Work has been so stressful lately i even thought about quitting and just travel with my saved up money" I say while putting my Hand on my forehead for support. "That's what we want to talk about now when the others will move their ass and quickly come here" Julian states while throwing his arms into the air.

Not even 2 seconds later the doorbell rings and Jake gets up and opens the door revealing our other Friends Lizzy, Charlotte and Daniel. They are out of breath and breathing heavily "Olivia you could at least inform us about the elevator being broken to not make us walk the fucking stairs" Daniel exclaims while they all come into the Apartment and also first make themselves a glass of water.

When everyone is sat on the couch Olivia speaks up "So everyone we all gathered here together to discuss something which I have been thinking about lately. Our jobs have been Stressful and it's also so hot outside making it unbearable to even work for more than 10 minutes without sweating like crazy so she came to the conclusion we all should make a trip to the beach"

We all agree with her because working in this heat is like torture especially if you are working for the minimum wage and working day and night to even be able to buy food or the rent.

"So are you saying we should take days off and just drive to the beach like a vacation?" Lizzy asks "Ding ding ding exactly" Olivia says exited "So who is going to go with me?" She asks and raises her and and I look at Jake to see what he is doing and he is also raising his hand so I'm also raising mine shortly after until everyone's Arm is in the air.

"Okay awesome now we just have to look for a house to stay at and we are ready to go" Olivia beamed and takes her laptop which stands on the coffee table and she starts to look for Houses to stay at. And of course we all also take our phones and start to look for accommodations.

Not even 20 minutes later we decided for a beautiful and also big house at the beach which is a little bit more expensive but if we split the cost we don't even have to pay that much. We will stay at the house for a whole week to just relax and have fun away from the Stressful workplace.

We cheer after booking the house successfully and Julian gets up "Okay friends let's get our things and then we will go into paradise"

We all get up and then make our way to our homes and I'm about to get into my car when someone yells my name from a distance. I look behind me and see Jake jogging towards me and he smiles at me showing me his dimple "Would you mind dropping? Since we live in the same neighborhood I figured you could drive me"

I smile at him and nod "of course" and he thanks me and gets into the car. I start to drive and we hold small talk and I also glance at him every now and then but then try to control myself and concentrate on the road and some minutes later we arrive so we get out and Jake smiles at me and gives me a quick hug and thanks me and then makes his way to his house.

I just stand there staring at him walking into the distance while I feel heat rising to my face and i don't even want to see how much I'm probably blushing right now. After i snapped out of it I make my way into my apartment and get the nearest suitcase I find and start to pack my things for the trip.

30 minutes pass by when suddenly my doorbell rings and I open the door and see Jake smiling at me with a bag in his hands "Already done?" He asks me while putting his bag down. "Not yet I still need about 10 minutes" I say while going into my bedroom again "no problem I will just wait on the couch" he smiles and makes his way to the couch and plops down on it and starts scrolling through his phone.

I quickly finish packing my things and then close the suitcase and roll it into the living room "I'm finished we can go" I smile and Jake gets up and comes closer to me and my heart starts to beat faster and he looks down at me into my eyes and sweetly smiles at me "may I help you?" He asks and I gulp and slowly nod "yeah sure thanks". He takes the suitcase out of my Hand and also takes his bag and both his hands are full so I open the door for him and also close the door.

Jake has to carry the luggage down the stairs and I feel bad about it since it looks heavy "Jake let me carry the suitcase" I say while going to him "No no don't worry it's only some stairs I can do it" he reassuringly smiles at me but I see he is struggling "Are you sure?" I ask him and am about to take the suitcase but he moves his arm away "Maddy don't worry I can do it we are almost at the door" I sigh and nod and some steps later we are at the door.

I open the door for him to go outside and we go to my car and put the luggage into my trunk. "Do you know where we will meet again?" I ask Jake while closing the trunk. "No I will just call Olivia real quick" I nod and Jake takes his phone and calls Olivia and after some rings she answers. "Hi Olivia" "I wanted to ask where we will meet?" "Oh okay then we will start to drive now" "Yeah bye". Jake ends the call and he looks at me "Olivia said we will meet at her place again" I nod "okay then let's go".

We start to drive and in front of Olivia's place we already see the others and we get out of the car and greet them. "I will drive ahead and just try to follow me" Olivia says while getting into her car. We all agree and then start to drive.
