Mikah was on a trip with her classmates from primary school, a reunion almost. Mikah had this unsettling feeling resting in her stomach. A feeling of nausea and as if her stomach was being squeezed. Something was wrong, something was going to happen. Mikah had decided to stay quiet because it was just a feeling and there was no definite information to say something was going to happen.
The place they had arrived in was a town, quite old and seemed to have been abandoned quite recently. The houses were of a modern style and all the resident's stuff was inside the houses and scattered across the street, almost as if the houses had been looted by a bunch of homeless people.
'Why would the trip be here? This is a very odd place to have a class reunion.'
Mikah was walking around the town with her classmates, the feeling of something being off was beginning to get stronger by the minute and it wasn't just an unsettling feeling, this time it was painful. Maybe something definitely was wrong. Mikah just tried her best to ignore it and carry on attempting to enjoy the reunion while it lasts.
Everything was going okay; she was catching up with classmates. Talking about life, marriage, things they succeeded in and courses they had passed etc. That was until they had come to a stop, sitting on a grassy part of the recently deserted village. The classmates around her that she had classed as 'friends' seemed to be laughing at her and walking away.
While this was happening, an overwhelming feeling took over Mikah. It felt like her skin was being ripped open, torn apart, but not only this, a warm liquid felt like it was soaking her clothes and dripping from her stomach. Screams of pain wanted to escape and alert someone, anyone, but nothing came out.
One of Mikah's classmates had strolled over to her and stood in front of her. His name was Jack Williams, a very popular boy who was well built and stood about six foot one and dressed in black and white Adidas tracksuits along with fully black Adidas trainers. His skin was slightly tanned, ocean blue eyes and messy curly blonde hair that was shaved around the sides. A smirk spread across his face as his skinny finger pointed at her stomach.
Mikah's heart was pounding, pounding so hard it hurt and she made the regretful decision to look down and see her stomach completely torn open. With her vision going hazy and fuzzy she started to panic and screamed out for help, rushing around the streets searching for someone. As there was no one to be seen she ran towards the nearest building. As Mikah opened the door she strangely found herself back in her own living room at home. A slam was heard behind her, it was the door slamming shut.
Her living room had a large TV, sofa and armchair, coffee table, lamps etc. A normal living room but... why were her parents there? How is it possible she was back home but the house was miles away? Confusion struck though her mind but she shook it off. That wasn't important right now. Mikah had screamed out for help towards her parents that were just sitting in the pitch-black room, lit up by the TV static. Her parents were as still as porcelain dolls, staring at the TV static. This was beyond normal.
Mikah cried out for help, begged them to save her, to stop the bleeding, to stop the pain. Her father continued to stare at the TV as he spoke to her is a deep, raspy, emotionless tone.
"You're being childish. It's only a small scratch."
Mikah glanced down at her stomach to see that everything inside and out was drying up and rotting away.
She was dying.
Her eyes snapped open. Mikah was awake in her own bed panting and coated in a cold sweat. She had escaped what was just another nightmare.
