Oblivious

When someone hits on him.

You and Heeseung went out grocery shopping, and as usual, he followed you around like a loyal puppy. He would back-hug you when there wasn't anyone in the aisle, whispering sweet nothings in your ear, and teasing you whenever you couldn't reach items on the top shelf.

"Need a hand, shorty?" he'd chuckle, effortlessly grabbing the cereal box you struggled to reach.

Both your carts were filled to the brim, and to make matters worse, you were on your period, which meant you were in pain and angry at the same time. You placed the items on the cashier, hoping to get home quickly and rest, but life had other plans.

The cashier, who looked about twenty-five, had a bright smile plastered on her face. She seemed overly enthusiastic as she started scanning your items, her gaze lingering on Heeseung.

"So, are you guys throwing a party or something?" she asked, glancing at the snacks and drinks.

Heeseung, oblivious to her intentions, smiled back, "Oh, no. Just stocking up on essentials."

She continued, "I see. It's nice to have someone to shop with. Makes it more fun, right?"

You could feel her eyes on Heeseung, and you rolled your eyes, trying to focus on packing the bags. But then she started asking more personal questions.

"Do you like cooking? I noticed you've got quite a few ingredients here," she said, batting her eyelashes.

Heeseung nodded, still smiling, "Yeah, I love cooking. It's relaxing."

"Wow, a guy who can cook. That's rare," she purred, leaning forward slightly. "Maybe you could give me some tips sometime?"

You clenched your fists, feeling your blood boil. The smirk she gave you was the final straw. She was clearly enjoying your discomfort.

"Excuse me," she continued, directing her attention to Heeseung, "Do you prefer baking or cooking? And what's your favorite dish to make?"

Heeseung, still unaware of her flirting, answered politely, "I enjoy both, but I think I prefer cooking. My favorite dish to make is probably pasta."

"That's impressive," she cooed, "Maybe you could show me your pasta recipe sometime."

You couldn't take it anymore. Your irritation and pain were already at their peak, and now this woman was blatantly flirting with your boyfriend right in front of you.

After paying, you grabbed the bags and stormed out of the store, not wanting to replay the scene in your mind. Heeseung followed, a confused expression on his face.

"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, catching up to you.

You spun around, your eyes blazing with anger. "What's wrong? Oh, maybe because a random girl flirted with my boyfriend and he let her!"

Heeseung looked taken aback, "What? Who was flirting with me?"

"The cashier!" you snapped, dropping the bags to the ground. "She was all over you, asking personal questions, batting her eyelashes, and you just stood there, smiling and answering her like it was nothing!"

Heeseung frowned, "I didn't realize she was flirting. I was just being polite."

"Polite?" you scoffed, "She practically asked you out on a date right in front of me, and you were too busy smiling to notice!"

"I'm sorry," Heeseung said, stepping closer. "I honestly didn't see it that way. You know you're the only one I care about."

"Then maybe you should start acting like it," you snapped, your voice trembling. "I'm in pain, I'm tired, and the last thing I need is to watch some girl flirt with my boyfriend while I'm standing right there!"

Heeseung reached out to take your hand, but you pulled away, tears welling up in your eyes. "I hate feeling like this, Heeseung. I hate feeling like I'm not enough."

Heeseung's expression softened, and he gently cupped your face in his hands, forcing you to look at him. "You are more than enough," he said softly. "I'm sorry I didn't realize what was happening. I promise I'll be more aware from now on."

You sniffled, trying to calm down. "It just... it hurt, you know? Seeing her smirk at me like she knew she could get to you." (PERIOD SYMPTOMS!)

Heeseung pulled you into a hug, holding you tightly. "She can't get to me. Only you can. You're the one I love, and I'll make sure no one else comes between us."

You buried your face in his chest, letting his warmth and reassurance wash over you. "I just don't want to feel like this again."

"I promise," he whispered, "I'll make sure you don't."

After a few moments, you pulled back and wiped your eyes. "Okay," you said, feeling a bit better. "Let's just get home."

Heeseung picked up the bags and smiled at you. "Lead the way, shorty."

You rolled your eyes but couldn't help but smile back. "Just this once, I'll let that slide."

As you both walked to the car, Heeseung kept a protective arm around you, making sure you knew just how much he cared. And as you drove home, you felt a little lighter, knowing that despite everything, Heeseung was yours and no one could change that.
