In the living room, (Name) drowns in a sea of white, massive sleeves, an enormous hoop skirt, and tiers of cascading ruffles drenched in white sequins.

A knock on the door can be heard before it swings open, "Sorry I'm late (Name)" Mona says.

"Don't look!" (Name) exclaims and Mona turns around quickly.

"Okay guess what, I'm free. My parents took the kids to Cider Lake for the weekend. So I was running around getting that stuff together." She says with her arms crossed. "Baizhu's not coming over is he?"

"No. He had emergency surgery." (Name) absentmindedly replied while fiddling with her corset strings.

(Name) stands up, patting down the gown's poofy skirt as she attempts to stand with confidence.

"You can look"

Mona turns around with a smile that left as fast as it came, "...Wow!" She whispered shouted sarcastically.

"(Name) that's a.. dress!"

(Name) walked closer to her friend, swaying her arms around "I've decided it's romantic, wearing the gown of the woman who bore your husband."

"I mean, my daughter will wear it too someday.. whoo maybe.. not." she trailed off as she got a glimpse of herself in a mirror.

"Wait a second, put the veil on" Mona said, situating the white material on her friend's head.

(Name) looked at herself in the mirror, giggling as she fidgeted with the veil and throwing it over her face.

"Sweet of her, wasn't it?" She said in a fake fancy accent.

"Yes, if I had this dress I'd give it to someone" Mona remarked.

(Name) giggled "I look like a muffin."

"Come on, it's not so bad." Mona tried to reassure her.

Mona held the end of (Name)'s veil, and slowly carried it over the couch as they walked slowly, (Name) humming The Wedding March.

"Did it come with the soundtrack?" Mona snickered.

(Name) chuckled "I think it's built in here somewhere."

"You know what it is? I think it's the thickness. No we'll fix it don't worry. " Mona tried reassuring (Name) as she sat down.

"Life's not like it is in the movies, isn't it?" (Name) spoke.

"No it's not," Mona said kneeling before her friend with a handful of clothes pins, "Although from day one, everyone conspires to tell you it is."

"Your mother, your father, teachers, nuns, everybody."

"Dreams come true, the good guy wins, people live happily ever after. All that crap." Mona raved.

"Then one day you wake up and realize that... your life should be different." She said.

"But.. Mona, dreams aren't crap." (Name) insisted.
