Kai felt grateful just to be included in Hybe's new boy group, he was really talented and very handsome but he couldn't see that. He assumed it was dumb luckHe debuted alongside the other 4 boys, Choi Soobin, Choi Yeonjun, Choi Beomgyu, and Kang Taehyun. So many of them sharing the name "Choi" is a coincidence that still makes him giggle
He was practicing the choreography for an upcoming song which they had to debut on stage. He was nervous to say the least but was used to this stuff by now so he suppressed his nerves and continued practicing
Just when he got into the flow of the dance, he saw one of the members enter the dance studio. He recognised instantly that this was Soobin, their leader
He jumped slightly but quickly spoke "Hey Steve, what's up?"
"Yknow, you're the only person who's allowed to call me that"
"Aw, because you love me that much?" He remarked back in a jokey tone
"Maybe" the elder remarked back, a teasing smirk across his face
Kai couldn't help but blush at Soobin's flirty tone
"Anyway, I came to see how the dance is coming along" his tone quickly changed to that of more professional
Kai didn't respond, only turning the song back on and reciting what he'd learnt this session
Once he finished, Soobin clapped his hands "Well done, you're getting better"
Kai's heart fluttered every time Soobin complimented him like this, it felt good to be praised. Especially by someone like Soobin
"I think you've worked hard enough for today, you should get some rest" he patted the maknae's head before making his way out of the room
Once the latter had left, Kai fell to his knees. He felt like his heart was about to pump out of his chest. Soobin sent him crazy with the way he complimented him, the way he pet his head
He quickly composed himself and made his way back to the dorms, locking the studio door behind him
He made it back to the dorms and into his bedroom, flopping onto the bed. He would've fallen asleep had it not been for Taehyun entering the room. The noise of the door handle jiggling before the door swung open made Kai's head shoot up in curiosity
Taehyun entered the room, a towel wrapped around his waist and water dripping down his toned body
Kai quickly turned around and hid his face in the mattress "Oh, hey Terry!"
Taehyun giggled slightly, "Hello? Are you okay?"
Kai mumbled into the mattress as his hand shot up, holding a thumb up
"I have to get changed, promise not to look okay?"
Kai didn't respond, he only continued to bury his face further into the mattress. After just under a minute, Kai didn't hear anything and assumed Taehyun was finished getting changed so he raised his head. He was greeted by Taehyun stood in only his boxers, searching through the closet
"I can't find any pyjamas to wear"
"Maybe if you actually did your laundry instead of letting your clothes pile up in the corner of the room-"
"Yeah yeah, whatever. I'm just going to have to sleep in this tonight"
"Your boxers?"
"Noooo, I was going to sleep naked", Taehyun remarks sarcastically
Kai's head then instantly fills with thoughts of him sleeping naked next to him in the bed they share. He shakes his head to force the thoughts out of his head, why was he thinking about his friend that way?
"What's the matter, visualising it?"
"Don't be ridiculous, I was just remembering that I have to text my mum" he replied nervously
Taehyun doesn't believe him but decides not to pry before climbing into the bed next to Kai
"Night HueKai""Goodnight Taehyun"
Kai watches Taehyun as he sleeps, his heart fluttering at the sight in front of him. Only he gets to see him so natural and vulnerable like this. He feels special, lucky to be by his side. Not long after, he quickly dozes off to
