Lady Whistledown

One may say modesty is a virtue, yet this author is hardly a virtuous woman. It is therefore my great pleasure to announce the news others questioned, but I never doubted. The diamond of the season has made her match, officially betrothed to the Duke of Hastings. The bride, undoubtedly, is giddy with anticipation over the impending nuptial...an event that will apparently take place sooner rather than later. Of course, there are only two reasons to procure a special license and race to the altar: true love, or concealing a scandal. On the other hand we have the ruby of the season. Who, Unfortunately will not be able to continue in this season as she has been requested back to Sweden. To what she might be doing now this author would like to know.

In a carriage in the middle of nowhere

Rosie was shifting and bouncing her leg in anticipation.

"Rosie calm down we still have ways to go until we reach your grandfather" lord Dixon says

"I know father but Simon knows the inns that we will be staying at and promised to send letters of news so I don't miss out on anything" Rosie explained

"Well we still have ways to go until we reach the inn" lady Dixon said

"It seemed that you and Simon had a rift of some sort while being in London. Care to explain?" Lord Dixon asked

"Father, he was simple busy courting Daphne and I was busy become good friends with the other Bridgerton's" Rosie says looking out the window

"It did seem that you and the viscount were getting pretty close towards the end of our stay. If we would have stayed there would something come from that relationship" her mother asked

Rosie just kept looking out the window. How was she to tell that the possible courtship was nothing but a game to him. How was she to explain that he ruined her. She was completely devastated and the only other person that knows is Benedict

"No mama I don't think anything would have happened they are all just good friends" Rosie says with a fake smile

It wasn't until night that they had made it to the inn that they were staying in

"A letter for Rosie" Olivia

"Who is it from?" Her mother asked

"It's from Simon" Rosie said quickly rushing to the room that she will be staying in

Dear Rosie

If you are reading this right now just know that I am ok. The duel was canceled after one shot. No one got hurt. But now that you are away there is something that I must tell you. You see in the beginning me and Daphne started out as a ruse. I know that you thought we had real feelings for each other but we were just pretending. Later on I started to involve feelings and I knew I had to let her go and that is why I decided to leave early. I never meant to hurt you and looking back I can see the many times that I did. The fact that I let Anthony court you showed me how little I actually thought about you in those days. I am very sorry and now you're gone and hurt and I am to marry without you being there. I know that you had no say in leaving but hopefully you write back. I know that it will take time but now that I am alone in the sense of family I seem to be missing you the most. I love you Rosie.
