The brightness of the sun hit my face as soon as I woke up. Blinking away the sleep, I felt the familiar weight of my best friend snuggled against my neck. Her breath was warm and steady, her hands wrapped securely around my waist, and her legs entwined with mine. I couldn't help but smile at the sight of this clingy loser, always finding comfort in our closeness.

"yah! Yunjinnie, move! I need to get up," I said giving her a gentle tap.

"Please, five more minutes, pupu," she mumbled, tightening her arms around my waist.

After a few more minutes of cuddling with her, I finally got up and took a shower. I can't believe we're still bestfriends, acting like girlfriends. It never crossed my mind that we might actually become more than that someday. I just love Yunjin's company and the closeness we share, even though I secretly want more. Yes, I've loved her ever since we met in highschool. I had a huge crush on her, and when we partnered on a project, it turned out we became best friends. I never regret it because I love every tiny bit of time spent with her. It's just that I'm a coward when it comes to confessing my feelings.

"Hey pupu, what are you cooking?" Yunjin asked, back hugging me. I could feel the heat on my face—I shouldn't be blushing right now. She's been doing this for years, Chaewon. Chaewon, get a grip. But who wouldn't melt with this kind of behavior?

"Of course, pancakes," I giggled, knowing I always cooked her favorite meal whenever she stayed the night at my apartment.

"Can I stay here today, pupu? I missed your place and I'm too lazy to go back to my own apartment. Hang out with me today, please," she pleaded, giving me puppy eyes that almost made me burst into a smile at her adorableness.

As if I could ever say no to her, this idiot.

We found ourselves on the couch, absorbed in "Inside Out 2," with Yunjin holding me snugly. My head nestled on her shoulder, her arms wrapped around me, and the soft rhythm of our breathing filled the room. My heart raced, the simple pleasure of being close to her magnifying every emotion. It was a casual scene, yet every moment felt charged with a quiet, electric energy that made me cherish our closeness even more.

"chaewon, I missed this," Yunjin said, turning to face me. Our eyes met, filled with longing, and she looked so beautiful. I couldn't help but gaze at her plump, soft lips. I wanted to kiss her so badly. "I missed you too," I replied softly.

"So, are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me?"

Yunjin's unexpected question left me shocked and at a loss for words. Did she mean she liked me? I struggled to process her words.

"Wha-what? What do you mean?" I stammered, feeling a rush of panic.

"Isn't it obvious, Kim Chaewon? I like you," Yunjin admitted shyly, scratching her nape. It finally sank in—Yunjin likes me.

"Honestly... me too. I had a big crush on you in high school, and these feelings have lingered for so long. I'm in love with you, Yunjin," I confessed, my voice wavering with nervous anticipation. "It's just that I'm a co-"

Before I could finish, Yunjin gently silenced me with a tender kiss. Her lips were soft against mine, sending a surge of warmth and electricity through me. In that moment, the world faded away, leaving only the sensation of her touch and the beating of our hearts in sync.

"So am I," she whispered breathlessly as we pulled back slightly, our eyes locked in a shared understanding. Without hesitation, we leaned in again, our kiss deepening with a hunger that had been suppressed for too long. It was a kiss filled with years of unspoken longing, a moment where our feelings poured into each other with an intensity that felt both overwhelming and exhilarating.

In that embrace, we found solace in each other's arms, finally embracing the love that had silently blossomed between us.
