❝WICKED WIPEOUT MAN!❞Were the first words Y/N heard as she traveled on the boat.
She had a love-hate relationship with water. She liked drinking it and stuff, but she couldn't swim to save her life. She's tried learning, believe me, but it was just too hard. It was better than the plane ride, at least.
Y/N thinks angry thoughts as the boat slowly moves through the large lake. Finn was supposed to ride with her, but he overslept and was now gonna be late. What's worse? She had the guitar she bought for him on her back.
Whatever she was thinking was quickly forgotten when she heard the voice of the host, "And our next contestants, all the way from America, Y/N and Finn!" The host, Chris... What was his name? It's not important! What's important is that he's staring in confusion, hand out to help her out.
"Hi!" Y/N smiles excitedly, waving with one hand while holding Chris's in the other, "Finn, erm.. He overslept. He'll be here, promise!" Awkwardly giggling at Chris's confused expression, she quickly scurries off to where the other contestants are.
Y/N looks around, trying to see who to befriend. One girl was dripping wet with a resting bitch face, so she was gonna avoid her. She scanned over once more, deciding to stand by a shirtless guy and an emo girl.
Walking up, she waves and adjusted the guitar case on her back, "Hey!"
The emo girl just frowned and looked away, but the big guy with the green shirt waved. The most excited was the shirtless guy, who shouted, "Hey dude! What's up with the guitar? You play or something?"
"No, I don't," Y/N giggles, putting the instrument down. "This was for Finn! We were supposed to come together but, uhh, he kinda overslept."
The blonde just nods, before grinning. "My names Geoff."
The two got to know each other as more and more contestants flooded in. A boy named Harold walked up and stood with Y/N and Geoff, making the blonde smile. More and more contestants come in. A guy with a guitar, who complimented Y/N's gift, some surfer-chick, and a boring guy.
Y/N kinda zoned out, until he heard Chris announce another contestant, "Up next, all the way from America, is—"
"FINN!" She squeals, making everyone flinch. Running to the edge of the dock, she almost pounced on the poor boy when he sluggishly climbed off the boat. "Oh, I missed you!"
Finn just pushes her off gently, pushing past Chris and standing in the back. Y/N follows happily, picking up the guitar she had bought and handing it to him. Everyone stared, causing the tall boy to blush in embarrassment.
"You're so embarrassing, Y/N," He mutters, sulking in a corner.
Chris, greatly offended that he had just been cut off, clears his throat. "As I was saying," He continues, finishing off introducing everyone, "our next contestant, Finn, who had woken up late and was supposed to arrive on time."
Finn grumbles when a he gets sent a glare, "Give me a break.."
Finn gets just that when the next person arrives.
Y/N excitedly conversed with the closest friend she had on the island, zoning out everything around her. That was until everyone started swooning over a guy. She tilts her head, squinting and analyzing to see if he really was cute or they were just being overdramatic.
She looks over at Finn, who was twiddling with a Nintendo 3DS. "Is he cute?" She asks, pointing to the boy, who she learns is named Justin.
Finn looks up, shakes his head, then goes back to playing. A shorter boy with a tooth gap peeks over, clearing his throat and acting all 'cool'.
"Yo, what're you playing?" Asks said boy, trying to copy Justin's charming smirk.
Finn glances up, bored, "Pokemon." He huffs when he gets elbowed in the arm.
"Finn! Be nice. He's trying to befriend you." Y/N whispers, making Cody blush a little in embarrassment. She just smiles, "My names Y/N. That's Finn."
Cody, not used to girls actually talking to him instead of bullying or rejecting him, starts stuttering over his words. Y/N tilts her head in confusion, wondering why he was so nervous. Y/N's thoughts were, yet again, cut off by Chris.
"We need a group photo for the promos! Everyone on the end of the dock!" He swung his arm weirdly, making Y/N giggle a little. The teenagers followed his order, shuffling like toy army men.
Y/N, of course, stood next to Finn. Or she tried to. There wasn't much space, so they ended up getting separated. That's okay, though! She just stood in front of the attractive guy and the scary girl. Finn wasn't that far, kneeling behind Sadie and in front of Trent and Noah. He just held up a peace sign.
The eccentric girl puffed out her cheeks and made a silly face, winking at the camera.The first time Chris messed up, she glanced over at the two tall people behind her. Smiling, Y/N tried starting a conversation.
"You should smile! I think it would look super pretty in the promos." She said to Eva, earning a glare in return. Y/N's smile faltered and she slowly turned back, "Never mind! You look totally fine like that!"
She posed again, and Chris had to stop because the stupid card was full. Leshawna sassily remarked at him, Y/N and Lindsay giggling at her joke. Finally, Chris finishes up..
Crrk..
"Alright, everyone say, 'Wawanakwa!'" Chris positions himself to take the photo, his evil smirk hidden behind the device.
As everyone poses and says the camp's name, the dock starts rattling. Before anyone could react, it snaps and the contestants fall into the water! Chris takes a few photos.
After taking his stupid photos, Chris smiles, "Okay guys! Dry off and meet at the campfire pit in ten."
Y/N, who struggled with swimming, gasped for breath and held onto a piece of wood from the broken dock. Looking around, she spots her best friend, swimming towards her.
"Let's go," he grumbles, grabbing her by the waist and swimming the both of them to shore, "You owe me for this."
She just sighs, flopping onto the sand when they get there. Y/N was starting to regret this already.
