Chapter one this is how it began : hello and my name is Amanda and I'm 19 years old and I live in Norway and over here is very cold there's ice and snow every year but sometimes it does get warm anyway I'm just trying to find a way to not get bored why because my mom is getting ready to host another party and she invited all of her friends and I just know that she going to want me to help out this time like she always does but that's my mom for you oh I guess I forgot to mention that my dad is always a way what I mean by that he travels a lot so I only get to see him when he returns occasionally we talked from time to time he always reminds me that I should take it easy on my mother because inviting people to parties is the only thing that helps her take
not being around off her mind so of course I will make things easy not only that the good thing about this is my best friend Heidi is coming back I haven't seen her in a month since she decided to go to band camp and trust me that's all she could ever talk about when she was getting ready to leave oh my gosh Amanda "said Heidi what I replied back to her band camp is going to be so much fun I'm going to learn how to play instruments and plus get away from my parents it's like the best summer ever right !I was laughing when she just said that wow" I had no idea that you wanted to leave your parents that bad look it's not that I don't love them she said but sometimes I need a break I mean could you imagine coming back from school and your parents already want you to hang out with them and their friends oh not to mention go to another elegant party no thanks it's not that I don't enjoy their parties it's just everybody there are snobs and I just want to be around people that don't really care that much well good" for you I said to her anyway I know the real reason why ?you want to go to band camp what exactly would that reason be isn't that obvious this is all because of that guy in band camp right what's his name again oh that's right Kyle keep your voice down said Heidi oh so I'm right yes you are that's the reason why you want to get away so bad it's just Kyle is so cool and all the girls like him all the boys want to be like him and this is the only chance I have to be around him so if I have to take it I'm going for it besides it's called taking a risk you should try it sometimes yeah I'll think about it said Amanda okay fine but just remember if you get bored you can always call me or text me okay don't worry I will I said right back to my best friend Heidi as I gave her a big hug and she packed her bags and left and that's the memory and flashback that I have of her until now I'm super excited and pumped that she's coming home who knows you might tell me what happened between her and Kyle at band camp chapter too it's party time Amanda come downstairs the guests are all here said my mother Miss Jane I'll be right there on Mom I said closing my room door shut and headed downstairs oh the outfit that I'm wearing today is a blue aquamarine dress with my favorite brown boots to match why because I don't like wearing high heels but my mother's always insisting that I do I know once she sees me wearing this she's going to say something but it will already be too late because she said the guests are downstairs so I'm not changing it , so I came downstairs wearing the dress with the boots to match my mom was happy when she saw me but then when she noticed the boots of course all she could say is this honey would it hurt for you to wear heels" just this one mom we've been over this I don't like wearing heels the only time I will wear them if I'm going to a dance at school or having dinner with you and Dad but I'm not going to wear heels to this party sorry but not sorry my mom can do anything about it so she just had to accept it fine said my mom but next time you're wearing heels young lady yes ma'am I replied right back to her okay then anyway we have to go meet the guest SO MY MOM AND ME WERE WALKING HAND IN HAND AND THE GUESS THAT WE HAD TO MEET OR NONE OTHER THAN HER FRIENDS MR AND MRS REYES ONLY KNOWN AS ENRIQUE REYES PARENTS THEY WERE LOVELY PEOPLE BUT AS FOR THEIR SON HE WAS NOT WELL IN MY BOOK YOU SEE ENRIQUE AND I OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS WE'VE BEEN LIKE THAT SINCE WE WERE KIDS AND WHEN WE WERE LITTLE HE WAS ALWAYS SUPER COMPETITIVE WHAT DO I MEAN BY THIS IS I REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS THIRD GRADE THERE WAS A SOCCER GAME IT WAS JUST FOUR ONE DAY AND ENRIQUE JUST HAD TO MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT NOT WINNING THAT GAME I remember his exact words how hard is it to kick a soccer ball you should have passed it to the team I mean are you dumb or something Enrique calm down I said to him it's not Carl's fault then who's the one to blame then he said to me with sarcasm from his voice look I get it you wanted to win the soccer game I really do but the whole point of playing this game is to have fun that's exactly how you think Amanda said Enrique right back to her you think it's a good thing to lose instead of winning no wonder you'll never make it in life excuse me "I said right back to him I'm going to be just fine when I grow up want to know why ? Because I will not end up becoming a tyrant self-centered jerk like you are and I picked up the soccer ball and threw it at him and he landed face down on the ground and Carl was in shock I can't believe you just did that Amanda that was impressive THANK YOU I SAID RIGHT BACK TO HIM AND I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT DAY WAS WHEN I PUT ENRIQUE IN HIS PLACE OF COURSE I KNOW HE WAS GOING TO TELL HIS PARENTS ABOUT IT BUT HE NEVER DID YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY ? CHAPTER 4 THE AGREEMENT I SAT DOWN WITH MY MOM AND I TOLD HER MY DECISION SO MOM YES HONEY I'VE DECIDED THAT I WILL BECOME ENRIQUE'S NEW ASSISTANT MY MOM WAS IN SHOCK REALLY "I THOUGHT YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU NEVER WANTED TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM THAT'S WHAT I TOLD YOU BUT I HAD A LONG TALK WITH MY BEST FRIEND HEIDI OVER THE PHONE YESTERDAY LAST NIGHT " AND SHE TOLD ME I THINK I COULD DO A WAY BETTER JOB THAN HIS OTHER ASSISTANT I SHOULD GO FOR IT SO WHY NOT? Chapter 5 the new assistant it was my first day of work I did the interview process with Enrique's parents and they completely trust me why ? well he was a really good friend of my dad's specially when he travels my dad told him to always take care of me and my mom update him on things so we wouldn't have to worry about anything when he the person that came out it's none other Enrique he was wearing his hockey uniform with the helmet wow he looked even more amazing than before holding the hockey puck again these were my thoughts why I tell myself " my best friend Heidi was staring at me with laughter because she knew that I was already drooling over him stop it I told her" girl it's not my fault that you fancy him I turned around I said out loud to her she turned around to face me and said this " girl chill you don't have to be that loud it's night time I'm sorry but I had to find a way to wake you up somehow " next time you try quietly or I could still scream fine I woke it up just don't do neither of those options this had me completely dying with laughter " cuz knowing my best friend Heidi she hated loud noise sweetheart this is going to be interesting just passed the hockey puck all right so I was going on the hockey ring and I definitely was not that good at keeping my balance I kept sliding and kept missing the hockey puck Enrique was going past by me dying with laughter obviously " saying I told you sweetheart it was not going to be easy to take me down fine so that means you surrender then right " fine you win "you can keep playing hockey if you want to I've decided to go home like you told me to but you already know what you have to do now seriously yeah " okay fine so he put back his hockey game and so did I and it came out wearing his blue jacket to match with his jeans and his favorite black shoes okay all right fine close your eyes I said so I finally decided to get this over with I put my arms around his shoulder and pulled him close to me lifted his head faced him next to me and then leaned forward and kissed him which took me by surprise because I was enjoying the moment for some reason but had to shake myself from it so I had to put some off me there " I did it happy now yeah " he said right back to me good see you tomorrow then I walked out of the ring and headed straight into my best friend Heidi's car and shut the door what took you so long she said "I'll explain it to you tomorrow okay fine let's go then well I was sitting in the back of my best friend Heidi's car with her I cannot stop thinking about that moment did I really just kiss Enrique this was not reality it was real and for a moment I was enjoying it but I'm his assistant so why did it feel like I was becoming something more maybe tomorrow would be better hopefully it wouldn't be awkward but then again you never know . Chapter 11 the night I finally came back home from a long day of working and my mom was already heading to bed " well I'm glad to see someone finally came home yeah I know I'm sorry Mom I'm a little late "a little honey it's 11:10 I'm sorry I missed the time I'm not mad at you because it's your job so it's fine and besides I trust you so there's no need to worry my mom gave me a pat on the back give me a kiss on the forehead and went straight to her room good night "she said to me good night I replied back and went straight into my room I decided to take a shower because it was a very long day someone straight into the bathroom turned on the water and got the soap and started taking my shower and then I brushed my teeth washed my face changed into my pajamas " and went straight to bed but of course I could not get any sleep why because of what happened " at the hockey ring " Enrique I said getting up from my bed why does he have to that handsome it's so annoying I tried my very best to gather my thoughts I can't stand him I tell myself but the more time I spend with him the more I start to feel something this was insane what if my best friend Heidi was right the more you hate the more you love oh her words kept echoing in my head back and forth maybe tomorrow will be fine so I pulled my cover over my head to get some sleep chapter 11 Enrique's thoughts wow practice was a lot today " said Enrique to both his parents when he came inside the house well I'm glad son you had a wonderful day said Dad with a smile his mom was also in a good mood " well I'm just glad you were on your best behavior am I always on my best behavior said Enrique to his parents no" they replied back to him with a shout he looked at both of them with agreement okay fine you're right I'm not but I was today" well your mother and I hope you did not give your assistant Amanda a hard time who me I would never "said Enrique? Chapter 12 the next day good morning dear said my mom "straight to me how was your sleep last night " I looked at her with bags under my eyes it was the worst night of my life " oh no honey what happened mom I think things are getting very complicated between me and Enrique now " really how so remember the whole someday he'll be your in-law yeah I remember that my mom was laughing again " yeah that definitely starting what do you mean " said my mom okay so the reason why I was late last night is because I was trying to get Enrique to stop practicing the hockey and go home like a good assistant should but then he started getting on my nerve like he always does I have no choice but to challenge him " let me guess you played hockey against him didn't you " said my mom out loud to me did you know ? I'm doing great what happened to Enrique I said to him oh Amanda I forgot to tell you Enrique's under the weather you mean he's sick " yeah afraid so his parents just called me this morning " really bad for the kid "I mean he been practicing extremely hard over these last couple of days and I really don't want him to feel overwhelmed during the game so it's better he gets some rest now " he said to me yea
