I became the Villain's Fiance

Chapter 6

Dad and his news

Another morning came. Birds began chirping and the soft rays of the sun touched my skin. 

Today started with the maids dragging me out of the bed to bathe and dress me. I don't even know what's happening. I just found myself wearing a pink hanfu with flower patterns and a  green belt-like-ribbon on the top part with a flower in the middle. My hair was done in two braids on both sides paired with some hair decorations and an illusion of bunny ears on top making me look so cute. My footwear has the same color of my dress which could be hardly seen because the hanfu reached the floor.

I turned around while looking at myself in front of the mirror. I've always wanted to wear a hanfu because I found it so pretty every time I saw it on some c-dramas with a fantasy genre.

I looked at myself with satisfaction as I studied myself.

"I look so pretty but what is the occasion today Mrs. Frank? Why am I dressed like a princess?" I turned to Mrs. Frank and asked.

"Oh miss, you are a princess, our princess. As for the occasion, Count will be returning home today from the castle," she answered.

My eyes lit up and my once laziness disappeared at the mention of the count coming home.

"Father? He'll go home today?"

"Yes miss," Mrs. Frank smiled when she noticed that I had become more energetic.

Truth of what Mrs. Frank said, father's carriage came into view as we waited for him outside the mansion. Aden stood beside me in his pink suit matching my dress.

The carriage with our family's seal stopped in front of the gates. The butler, Mr. Jae, opened the carriage door for father and the moment father came out, Aden and I rushed to him.

"Father!"

He laughed as we attacked him with tight hugs. He carried the two of us.

'Woah, I'm shocked he can carry the two of us!'

Father, even though not always with us never neglects us. In fact he spoiled Aden and me so much with gifts. He'd always send us gifts despite being away from us. 

We were so lucky we got a very loving father. Minsan ay nagi-guilty ako dahil alam kong hindi para sa'kin ang lahat ng meron ako ngayon pero at the same time, I am grateful that I could experience having a family.

In a short period of time, I've grown attached to them. I have come loving the family I now have, the people in the house, and the life I now had.

Hindi na kami nagtagal pa sa labas at pumasok na para sa umagahan.

We were like having a feast with the numerous dishes served to us and it's just for breakfast. There are the pancakes as the main breakfast with fruit toppings. Next to it are the desserts like cake, cupcakes, puddings, and the fruit agar. 

I got to bite every one of them and I could say that the cook is a top tier for making this.

'As a dessert lover, it's a thumbs up for the cook!'

I was in the middle of praising every food on the table when dad spoke to my twin and me regarding the previous incident.

"*ehem*, I heard something happened yesterday making the whole mansion panic. Mind telling me what happened, kids?" Aden and I stopped to look at each other before looking at our father.

Aden stepped up, "We were playing in the forest hide and seek dad."

"Then I hide until the sun sets," I added without mentioning my encounter with the male lead, the prince of this empire.

Father sigh, "You two, when will you stop being kids?" he asked as if he was so tired of us being childish and causing troubles almost everyday.

"Don't worry father, we'll stop being kids if we're not kids anymore!" Aden said as if to assure father. I laughed at his silliness while my father sighed yet again.

"You're not kids anymore though. Only five years left and you'll have the coming of age ceremony," father reminded.

Speaking of coming of age, it's just like when I was still on earth. Debut is when you turn 18. The difference is boys here also debuted when they turned 18 years old. Meaning, Aden and I will debut at the same time.

"It's still five years though," Aden argued.

Father shakes his head at Aden and I smiled.

"I think it's time for the two of you to attend social gatherings and learn about the noble society. The palace will hold a banquet for the return of the Grand Duke four days from now. I will bring the two of you so you must behave and refrain yourself from making anymore troubles. Especially you, Aden," father announced.

I was shocked with the news. Return of the Grand Duke? The Villain's father?

If it's for his father, then it means he'll also be there?

The Grand Duke is a known general with many achievements. He would always come home from wars and every time it happens, he would always come home victorious. And from what I remembered, it was mentioned that he quit being the empire's war hero when he's wife died due to its heart disease. Because of so much sadness, not long after his wife died, the Grand Duke followed leaving their 17 year old son. When he turned 18, he took the duke's position.

By now, the villain is only 15 years old.

Maybe it's because of him losing his family that made him a cold hearted man. I've always wanted to meet him. It was part of my plan to change him but I didn't know how.

Now an opportunity makes its way to me, why would I let it slide.

"But father, what will we even do-"

"We'll attend then, father," I cut off whatever Aden will say and agreed with father.

"Sister?"

"Father's right Aden. Our life shouldn't always be around playing. We should get out sometimes too in order to grow. There are times that we can be a kid anytime we want but there's also a time that we should engage ourselves in the world," I reminded him as I held his hand.

He was silent for a moment but after a while, an understanding look, flashed in his eyes. That's right, my brother may be childish sometimes but he is a very understanding person, and I love him for being like that.

"Okay, sister and I will go with father!" I smiled when he finally agreed. Father did the same. He has the look of a proud father.

Alright, it's settled then. I'll be meeting the villain who's not the villain of the story. I hope he'd be there.
