A/N After some careful thought I decided that my Chapter one was WAY to short.Yeah sorry I had my inpatient friend telling me "Hurry up and post it already and see if anyone likes it"----Yeah probably not a good thing to type this author note while she is looking over my shoulder-------Yeah it wasn't ----Well enjoy the story I'll make the Chapters a few parts I guess or Maybe I'll just make Chapter one a few parts. I really don't want to update what I already posted either. I know you can edit them but I don't want to because some people won't go back and read it and I'm not sure if it notifies them if I edit a part.

Maya wasn't sure what to do with the half dragon. She let him stay in the cave while she had brought food back. He was eating now.Maya wasn't sure if she should trust this half dragon. She has meet plenty of dragons and killed them but she never meet a half dragon.

"Thanks"The half-dragon says catching Maya's attention. He is looking at the ground as if embarrassed to have said it.

"It was nothing." Maya replied. "How long has it been since you have eaten?"She added out of curiosity.

"I don't know." The boy answered. "I know I didn't eat yesterday." He didn't look at Maya the entire time he talked. It was like if he was afraid of her, that or disgusted by her. Maya sat waiting for him to finish his meal. He didn't eat like a beast, scarfing down each bite. No, he ate like he was nervous, slow and cautiously.  Though he did sniff each piece of bread before he ate it, and checked each berry before putting it in his mouth.

"What's your name?" Maya asked watching him.

"Ethan." He said not looking at her still.

"Ethan?" Maya was waiting for a last name.

"Just Ethan." He looked at Maya with his red eyes. "Nothing else."

"Oh?" Maya said. "Didn't you get it from your parents?"

"Look I'm grateful for your damn food but that doesn't make me your friend and I ain't pouring my guts out to you." He snapped suddenly. He paused for a moment looking at Maya, as if he was shocked he said such a thing, then he turned and looked back to the ground.

"That wasn't what I was trying to do." Maya said. "I just thought." Maya stopped looking at Ethan. He was still starring at the ground. He was acting as if he looked at her the whole world would come crumbling to the ground. As if he had bad memories with her.

"Just shut up." Ethan said, more as whispered. He really didn't seem like he wanted to talk to Maya. She hadn't done anything but ask about his last name. Maya watched as Ethan finished his meal. He still didn't look at her. He just sat looking at the ground sitting as far as possible from Maya.

"Why?" Ethan said turning to her. He looked a little upset.

"Why what?" Maya asked.

"Why?" Ethan said again. "Why help me?I'm a demon."

"So?" She replied. "What does that matter."

"I'm different, I'm a monster?"

"I say again, So." She said. "I'm a Dragon Priest, and you are a half dragon. Yet we both breath air, we both speak, we both eat, we both sleep, and we both feel. I don't see a difference other than you have more power than a human and can choose to be evil."She said. She was actually repeating something her mentor had taught her.

"I am evil though. Look at my wings, and my horns. That proves enough for most humans." Ethan spoke as if he couldn't keep the words in.

"Roses have thorns and they are still beautiful, cats have fangs and they still make companions, cactus had spikes and they hold milk." Maya said remembering the lesson clearly as she looked into Ethan's eyes.

Ethan stayed silent. He couldn't fight that and Maya knew it. No comebacks from one of Jasmines teachings.  Maya had reacted the same way. No comeback for Jasmine because Jasmine was simply unarguable.

"You're a strange girl." Ethan said looking away again. Maya was sick of him not looking at her. What was she the plague or something? She didn't harm him or anything. She fed him and that should deserve a little gratitude.

Maya stood up ready to leave. She wasn't sure if she should banish Ethan, allow him to stay, or kill him. He didn't seem harmful. She couldn't chance letting him live in the village though. Not unless she kept an eye on him at all time. Maybe for a week she could chance it, but be extra careful.

"You coming?" She asked looking at him. He looked up at her quickly. Clearly he was shocked.

"Where?" He asked. Maya could tell he was still trying to figure it all out in his head.

"My village. You could use some rest right?" Maya explained.

"Why?" Ethan said. Enough with the questions.

"Just come on." Maya said grabbing Ethan's arm and pulling him to his feet. He quite a bit taller than her but that didn't stop Maya from grabbing his wrist and pulling him behind her. Ethan was still lost as Maya pulled him behind her.

Maya knew this was a big chance, but she never meet a half dragon. She wanted to study them. That was something Jasmine never got to teach her was about the half dragons. Maya wanted to know all about them. Did they only eat human food or did they eat like dragons at times too? And how fast they aged. She wanted to know it all.

"Dragon Priest." Ethan said snapping up Maya's attention. She looked up at him. He was still in the cave and she was trying to pull him out.

"What's wrong?"Maya asked.

Ethan paused for a moment looking outside the cave past her. "I don't like the daytime." He said. "It's to bright."

"Don't like it?" Maya repeated. "But that doesn't mean you can't follow me." She said

Ethan let out a sigh and his eyes went back to looking at her. "There are people out there during the day though."

"So I'm out during the day." Maya said. Ethan was starting to make no sense.

"You're different. You fed me." Ethan said. He looked scared to go outside. Was there something out here that would hurt him?

"It will be fine, come on." Maya said. Ethan stayed quiet looking down at her from the safety of his cave. Maya wasn't sure what his problem was, the sun couldn't kill him, could it?

Ethan just stared at her. Maya looked at him. His hand was shaking a bit and his eyes were widened. He was scared of coming out. He was scared of the sunlight. He was scared of people?

"I wont leave you alone."Maya said looking up at him. Ethan paused for a moment before stepping out of the cave. Maya smiled and started walking to the village. She was going to take the biggest chance she ever had. Bringing a half dragon to the village. He couldn't be to harmful, he was afraid of the sun after all.
