You rush her. One hand pulls her holster arm to her chest while the other gently cups around her mouth. Small puffs of air hit your fingers as she stares you down.
"Emily," you hiss, eyes pleading. "Emily Prentiss!" You lean in close so no one else can hear, so close your hips are flush against hers. Your lips brush the back of the hand covering her mouth as you continue, "I'm under cover. Don't blow this for me, or so help me."
For a moment, dark eyes continue to stare into yours. Eventually she seems to find whatever she's searching for and reluctantly relaxes under your hold. You gently remove your hands and take two steps back to place a more appropriate amount of distance between the two of you. The request for her to follow you is unspoken when you turn on your heel and walk swiftly to the single person bathroom at the back of the bar. The rusty lock on the chipped red door barely has a chance to snick before you swivel to face her.
"There's a man here who keeps picking up women and assaulting them in this county. He's not from here and he's dumb enough not to recognize a new face on the street who just happens to be his type," you say, vaguely gesturing at yourself.
Emily takes you in. Almost entirely professionally if it weren't for the extra beat spent lingering on your dark red lips, then down to your almost sinfully tight white t-shirt. You know that look. In fact, you normally love that look, but you're on the job.
A fight broke out at the town bar approximately ten minutes before your meeting. Having just rolled into town no less than 4 hours prior, Emily Prentiss and Luke Alvez took it upon themselves to intervene. Leave it to them to ruffle the feathers of your small town within hours of their arrival.
You sigh and turn away from the agent's appraisal to check your reflection in the mirror. The two of you have been together in the bathroom for far longer than you should be. The last thing you needed was for the perp to get suspicious and assume (correctly) that you prefer the likes of women, and that you'd taken the brunette to the bathroom for more pleasurable reasons than what you'd actually dragged her in for.
You take a deep breath, watching your shoulders rise and fall slowly in the mirror, before you turn back to Emily.
"A kiss before you go?" You smirk. Emily looks at you (and certainly not at your mouth...again.) bewildered before you tap your left cheekbone. "Your cover," she says in eventual understanding.
Before you can so much as nod, she swings with a fraction of the energy she's capable of. You've certainly been hit harder and for much less. Once her fist makes contact you swivel your head back toward the agent, a smile playing on your features complemented no doubt by the blooming red mark where she'd hit you.

"Thanks," the blonde says through a brilliant, disarming smile.
Emily continues to study the younger woman across from her. Made sense she was chosen as the bait tonight. Whoever's rookie this was was good. Emily had been taken by surprise when she was shoved against the wall by the blonde. It isn't often she gets taken so off guard, and after the initial surprise wore off Emily was then hit by a wave of attraction at the sheer proximity of the woman pushing her up against the wall. God, Emily, has it really been that long? Getting bested like that hadn't happened in a while, professionally or otherwise. Either way, hopefully she and Alvez hadn't ruined the night for the rook.
Caught in thought, Emily stands back as the mystery officer walks out of the bathroom, no doubt swearing Emily's name for interrupting the sting.
Wait. Her name.
How did she know her name? She and Alvez only just got in today. She was doing a favor for an old friend who called a few days prior. He talked about a small Missouri town was getting plagued by a serial killer. Said the sheriff's office was small, and although mighty, was unequipped to handle the case alone. Things like this just didn't happen in the area. The rest of the team needed to be available in DC, but Emily had the time, and to her surprise, Alvez volunteered. She figured she wouldn't push after hearing him mumbling something about needing a break from the DC dating scene.
