Avery's POV
When I stepped out of our hotel room, they were all waiting for me with smiles on their faces. Even Secretary KC was with them. Tyler and Tyrone had left the room before me.
"Are you ready for your 4-day tour here in New York before your surgery?" Tyler asked with a smile, extending his hand to me.
I smiled and nodded. "Yes," I said, taking his hand.
"Okay, let's go!" Lucas said cheerfully.
We decided to start our exploration at the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. The weather was perfect, it's warm with a gentle breeze and the excitement in the group was palpable. I wanted to make every moment count.
"Brooklyn Bridge is a must visit," Secretary KC said, leading the way. "The views are stunning, especially at sunset."
Tyler had Tyrone on his shoulders, the little boy giggling as he pointed at the skyscrapers and boats below. "Mommy, look! The boats are so tiny from up here!"
I smiled, holding Tyler's hand as we walked. "They are, sweetie. It's like we're on top of the world."
Mark and Caleb, as usual, were goofing off with their cameras. "Come on, Caleb, let's take a jumping shot right in the middle of the bridge!" Mark suggested, positioning himself.
Caleb rolled his eyes but couldn't resist the challenge. "Alright, but don't blame me if you look ridiculous."
Ruth laughed, shaking her head at their antics. "Just make sure you don't drop your camera, Caleb."
Lucas was busy taking panoramic shots of the bridge and the Manhattan skyline. "This place is incredible," he said, snapping photos. Hanggang sa natapat ang camera nito kay Ruth. "Every angle is picture-perfect."
Ruth rolled her eyes. "Just say if you want to take a picture of me instead of making so many excuses."
Mark pulled Ruth and Lucas together and positioned them side by side. "You two talk too much. Let's just take you picture together," he said as they stood in the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge.
I smiled, knowing they both refused to admit their feelings.
Caleb got ready to take the picture. "Put your arm around her, Lucas," he instructed.
"What?" Lucas frowned.
"Come on, bro." Mark chimed in.
Lucas finally put his arm around Ruth. It was obvious Ruth was blushing. Caleb snapped the photo while Mark laughed and teased Lucas non-stop.
Secretary KC caught up with me, handing me a bottle of water. "Stay hydrated, Miss Avery. We have a lot of walking ahead."
"Thanks, Secretary KC," I replied, taking a sip. "I really appreciate you being here with us."
She smiled warmly. "Anything for you, Miss Avery. We're all here to support you."
As we walked along the bridge, I felt a sense of peace. The beauty of the surroundings and the love of my friends and family gave me strength.
"Let's take a group photo," Ruth suggested. "It's not every day we get to be here together."
We gathered in the middle of the bridge, with the skyline as our backdrop. Caleb set up his camera on a tripod and hit the timer. "Everyone say 'Brooklyn!'"
"Brooklyn!" we chorused, laughing as the camera clicked.
After the photo, we continued exploring, stopping at various points to take in the views and snap more pictures. Tyrone was full of energy, running ahead and pointing out interesting sights.
