jake's second day of classes started off smoothly, with him getting more comfortable with the campus layout and his schedule. as the day progressed, he and his friends decided to check out the student lounge, a popular hangout spot.
"this place is pretty cool," sunoo said, looking around. "i can see why everyone comes here."
"yeah, and it's a good place to meet people," jungwon added, grabbing a soda from the vending machine.
as they settled into a corner of the lounge, jake noticed sunghoon, heeseung, and jay walking in. the trio made their way to a table in the center of the room, instantly drawing attention from everyone around them.
"there they are again," niki said, nodding towards the group. "think they'll remember us?"
"maybe," jake said, feeling a flutter of nerves.
"let's go say hi again," sunoo suggested, already standing up.
"you're way too eager," jake muttered, but followed anyway.
"hey, guys," sunoo greeted, smiling brightly. "mind if we join you?"
"not at all," heeseung said, gesturing to the empty seats. "so, how are you guys settling in?" jay asked.
"pretty good so far," niki replied. "everyone's been really welcoming."
"that's great to hear," sunghoon said, his eyes briefly meeting jake's. "what about you, jake?"
"i'm doing alright," jake said, trying to sound casual. "still getting used to everything."
"you'll get the hang of it," sunghoon said with a small smile. "just takes some time."
they all were getting comfortable with each other, chatting, making jokes and laughing, and even exchanging their phone numbers already.
"oh, wanna play truth or dare?" heeseung asked suddenly.
"ah whyy?" jake whined, he really didn't like truth or dare. "for fun!!" heeseung said, smiling.
"oh cmon hyung," sunoo said eagerly. "sounds fun."
they all gathered around, and the game started with some harmless truths and dares. as the game progressed, the atmosphere grew more relaxed, with everyone laughing and teasing each other.
"alright, sunghoon, truth or dare?" jay asked with a mischievous grin.
"dare," sunghoon replied without hesitation.
jay and heeseung exchanged a glance before jay leaned in. "i dare you to date jake. for a week"
the room fell silent for a moment, and jake felt his heart skip a beat. sunghoon raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable.
"just for fun," heeseung added quickly. "you know, as part of the game."
sunghoon looked at jake, then back at jay. "alright, i'll do it."
jake's eyes widened in surprise. "wait, what?"
"it's just a dare," sunghoon said, giving jake a reassuring look. "nothing serious."
"yeah, it's all in good fun," heeseung said, smirking.
"o-okay, if you say so," jake said, still feeling a bit uneasy.
the game continued, but jake found it hard to focus. the idea of sunghoon pretending to date him, even as a joke, made him feel strange. part of him was excited, but another part felt unsure.
after the game, jake and his friends headed back to their dorm. as they walked, sunoo nudged jake playfully.
"looks like you've got yourself a boyfriend," sunoo teased.
"it's just a dare," jake said, rolling his eyes. "don't make a big deal out of it."
"but it could be fun," jungwon said, grinning. "who knows what might happen?"
"yeah, maybe he'll fall for you for real," niki added with a smirk.
"guys, seriously," jake said, feeling his cheeks heat up. "it's not like that."
"we'll see," sunoo said, winking. "just go with the flow, jake."
