Chapter 1 - A strange light

Out in the main garden was Popgoes and his friends -Blake, Saffron, Sara, and, Stone- and they were all doing their own things

Blake and Sara were watering the flowers in the garden, Stone was messing in the bird bath, Popgoes was sleeping on a bench, and Saffron was reading a book

There are 4 main forests that surround the garden -The South Forest with lush green trees, The East Forest with fall colors, The West Forest a snowy area, and The North Forest but also called the Dead Forest-

Blake looked up at the others "it's very peaceful today, right Sara?" Sara smiled a little, looking up while she continued to water the flowers

"Yeah- it's rather nice!"

Saffron continued to read her book but looked up at Sara and Blake for a second before looking back down at the book. Stone just continued to splash in the bird bath for some reason-

Popgoes woke up from his nap after hearing the others talk

"Mmm- yeah, it's very peaceful..."

He looked at the group for a bit and noticed Stone messing around with the water

"Stone what are you up to...?"

Stone quickly froze once he heard Popgoes speak, he turned his head to look at Popgoes and sheepishly smiled, still standing in the bird bath

".... N-nothing...."

Popgoes raised an eyebrow and rolled his eyes a bit, he was used to Stones chaoticness by this point, but sometimes it can go a bit too far

"Uhuh- sure you aren't...."

Blake chuckled slightly at the sight of Stone trying to lie about what was doing, Sara and Saffron just quietly snickered to themselves

Stone pouted slightly that his attempts weren't working, he looked away from Popgoes and crossed his wings as he mumbled something under his breath

Meanwhile, Saffron looked up from her book as she spoke "How long do you think he'll stay in the bird bath?"

Popgoes shrugged and chuckled slightly

"Knowing him, probably quite a while-"

Blake nodded at Popgoes' reply, leaning against the bench

"He's probably gonna stay in there until something or someone gets him out"

Sara snickered a bit as she chimed in on the conversation

"Yeah- knowing how stubborn he is, he'll probably stay in there for hours"

Stone pouted "yall are mean" Popgoes chuckled again and playfully rolled his eyes

"Oh please- you know we're just joking around"

Saffron piped up, the smile on her face clearly showing that she was enjoying this

"Yeah- we're only messing with you a bit"

Stone pouted again, mumbling something about how they were apparently 'bullying' him

just then a bright light emitted itself from the direction of the north forest also known as The Dead Forest, it looked like a purple Lazer shooting into the sky and it also made a loud bang sound that lasted for a second

Everyone in the group froze at the sudden light and sound, turning their heads to look at the location of where it came from

They all seemed confused, but also slightly concerned, it didn't sound normal at all

Popgoes spoke up in a confused tone, his ears lowering slightly

"What the...? What the hell was that noise-?"

Sara and Saffron looked at each other in concern, Blake's ears also lowered as he turned back to the group

"I have no idea- what the hell was that?"

Stone didn't say anything, he was staring at the direction where it came from

Popgoes shook his head slightly, still clearly confused by what just happened

"It came from the Dead Forest didn't it?"

Sara glanced towards the forest worriedly "Y-yeah- it did... I don't think anyone's been up there for years-"

Saffron looked concerned and she was subconsciously holding her book tighter

"Should we... go check what it was..?"

Stone mumbled something under his breath, almost sounding like he was against the idea of going into the forest

Blake looked a bit concerned, but didn't look opposed to the idea of checking

"I mean... I know it's been a while since anyone went there but... I feel like we should at least go check if something's happening."

Popgoes looked a bit concerned, but also agreed "I suppose we should see if something is going on, it's better than just sitting here wondering what it could be..."

Sara nodded slowly, still looking concerned but also agreeing that they should go check

"Ok- ok- yeah we should go... I don't like the sound of whatever that was..."

Saffron glanced towards Stone to see his reaction, but she wasn't surprised when he was visibly nervous about going towards the Dead Forest

Popgoes looked at Stone, noticing his nervousness

"Stone- I'm assuming you aren't going-"

Stone quickly nodded, but he also looked a little guilty

"Y-yeah- I'm not g-going-"

Popgoes nodded at the expected response before he turned back to the group

"Ok- Stone obviously isn't going, so I'm assuming the others are fine going?"

*Sara and Saffron nodded immediately*

"Yeah, I'm fine with going-"

"I don't like how ominous that was, so- yeah I'm going.."

Popgoes nodded at their responses before looking at Blake "What about you, Blake?"

Blake nodded, he also seemed a little concerned but was willing to go anyways

"Yeah I'm fine with going, I don't really wanna sit here and wonder what the hell that was..."

Popgoes nodded again, glad that they were all fine with going

"Yeah- I'd rather not sit around and wonder what happened either-" He looked back at Stone

"Stone, you're gonna stay here while we go check out what the sound was, alright?"

Stone nodded, still looking a bit nervous "Y-yeah- I'm fine with staying here while you guys go... please be careful..?"

Popgoes nodded "Yeah- we will be careful, don't worry."

He glanced at the rest of the group, making sure everyone was okay with going to that forest

"Everybody ready?..." Sara and Saffron nodded, both of them looking slightly anxious

Blake also nodded but he seemed less worried

"Yeah, we're ready..."

Popgoes took a deep breath before speaking again

"Alright- Let's go then-"

He began walking towards the Dead Forest -with Sara, Saffron, and Blake walking beside him
