Beneath The Skatepark Lights

Beneath The Skatepark Light's, chapter 1.

Chapter 1:
Marceline’s in an airport holding an apple, going from japan to canada was tough but not the worst. Her moms leaves the airport putting her in charge of getting bags. “This blow’s” she muttered walking to the escalator. That's when she stepped onto the escalator only to hear the sound of a wheel, a skateboard wheel she had only heard of skateboarding, seeing as it was snowboarding back in canada. Someone with red dyed hair a white button up black baggy jeans and a headband that sat on her head with two strands and bangs sitting out the front. She was carrying a big black bag, Marceline dropped her apple as the girl was skating past and caught it in her big black bag “hey! Get back here!” she yells, marceline chases her down the street “you with the bag!” The girl slowly stops, marceline catches up and takes a breather “ you have my apple” marceline manages to get a few words out. “Oh, sorry I had my music on, I'm doing delivery, right now I'm delivering a skateboard. The top of the bag must have come undone while I was skating" Marceline was relieved she seemed nice enough, they stared at each other for a good 10 seconds. “Here’s your apple, you live around here?” she asked while opening her bag. Marceline grabbed the apple, she couldn't tell why she cared about grabbing that apple so much, maybe it was because it was the last piece of food she had to eat from Canada, or maybe it was that she wanted to see what the girl riding the skateboard had in her bag. Either way she couldn't eat the apple now it had been in a bag with some dirty skateboard.

“You look lost,i can take you home or show you the way back to the airport,” marceline looked around and realized she had no clue where she was “The airport please” marceline said a bit embarrassed that she ran two blocks a couldn't find her way back “im ria, can you skateboard?” ria reached in her bag pulling out a scuffed up looking skateboard with scratches and wood pieces looking like they got glued on with a kids glue stick. “No i can't skate, but if i could i would be avoiding that board at all costs” she says snarky. “i'll walk you to the airport” ria said while grabbing marceline arm. She flips up her skateboard on one side and holds it. A few minutes later they're both in the parking lot waiting for Marceline's mom to drive by and pick her up. “You said you didn't skate right?, you should learn. Come to Stormy’s some time, i could help you pick out a board with special trucks and cool looking grip tape” marceline smiles and nods. Skateboarding doesn't sound like something she would be interested in but it seems similar to snowboarding, so it's gotta be worth a try.

A day later marceline is heading out the door with a clutch bag and 60$ in her wallet she's headed to stormy’s to get a skateboard, it may or may not be an excuse to see ria again, she walks there with a smile on her face and a big bag weighing her down. Once she walks close enough she peeks through the window finally able to see ria, ria is standing at the counter putting the trucks on a skateboard. Marceline walks in the door and makes a bell ringing sound. Marceline walks over to the display with the boards. She takes the plain maple wood one and heads over to the counter, she puts it down and ria looks over. “Wow a longboard, really? For your first time skating that is a really hard board to start with "Ria says, taking her hand and grabbing the board. “Is there a difference?” Marceline said while grabbing her wallet. “and thanks for walking me back to the airport yesterday,” Marceline smiled and moved to the side so she could see the board. "How about I take you to the skate park sometime, I could show you the basics?" Ria said while sanding down the board. Marceline nods.

A few hours later Marceline walked to the skate park to be taught how to skate.

Marceline: “Are you almost here, it's cold out?”
Ria: “yeah, i'll be there in a minute”

Ria walks up the steps and onto the skating area she turns her head over to look for marceline she can't see much but cherry blossoms and the scuffed up ground.

Marceline runs up behind her and grabs her shoulder "boo!" Marceline shouts while ria jumps back. "Sorry i didn't mean to make you so jumpy" marceline giggled, "can you teach me an ollie?". Ria steps forward and relaxes, she shakes her head left and right "slow down, first you've gotta get on the board, then I can teach you some tricks".
