It's been a few weeks since the encounter between our Nugget and the benevolent Max. He sits alone in the same coffee shop, this time he has no work to do but he finds the setting a good place to unwind and relax. Today, however, Nugget finds himself without the same relaxed feeling he usually has when he hangs out at this coffee shop, replaced by anticipation instead. Nugget felt confused. Anticipating what? What does he feel the need to wait for? Confusion raced through the small chicken nugget's mind.
"I can't handle this, I'm going home," Nugget decides in his head. He sits up, folds up his laptop, hops in his car, and drives. Driving where? He didn't know. He just keeps lapping around town, so many thoughts racing through his mind but none do too. He doesn't know how to feel. He found himself driving so long he didn't notice the time fly by or his fuel slowly depleting. Eventually, he slowed to a stop in the middle of a road. It takes him a good few seconds to realize what happened, but once the realization hits him, he jumps up, "Damn it!" he exclaims. He looks up at the ceiling of his far and fingers for his phone. He picks it up and phones the police.
"This is 911, what seems to be the problem?" asks the operator.
"Hey, uh- my car just ran out of gas." Nugget explains.
"Mm-hm," the operator understands.
"Who can I contact to get back on the road?" Nugget questions. The operator proceeded to forward the number of the local tow company. Nugget hung up not long after, but he didn't call the tow company. He called Max, whose number he saved after the fight between him and Cotton Eye Joe.
"Hello? Who is this?" Max asks.
"This is Nugget, listen, my car ran out of gas, I need you to bring me some gas, I just don't want the fines that come with getting towed," Nugget elaborates. Max sighs, but agrees.
"Alright, just share your location and I'll be right over." Nugget hangs up and sends his location. He sits back and waits. There's a lot of nothing and staring out the window, until Nugget hears a car screech to a halt right next to his. The driver in the car rolls down the window, it was Max. Then, Nugget realized why he felt so odd. It all came to a stop when he saw Max, his odd feeling replaced by euphoria.
"Hey, I got your gas." Max itches his nose and opens his car door.
"Alright- I got your gas too!" Nugget quickly realized his mistake, "Uh- I mean- uh," Max raises his eyebrow, "Thank you," Nugget smiled awkwardly as he spoke and got out of his car.
"You're welcome, now we should get out of here, it's getting late." Max and Nugget got
Nugget's car back on the road, and they both got back to their place safely.
Nugget laid down in his bed and pulled the covers up to his shoulders. He closed his eyes and turned to his side, he had no trouble falling asleep after the exhausting day he just had.
Nugget woke up to find Max lying right beside him.
"What? What are you doing here?" Nugget was rightfully confused.
"What is there to not believe?" Max acted like everything was normal. Nugget was confused but, strangely enough, not opposed.
"We aren't dating!" Nugget slightly shouted, but not in an angry tone.
"Don't lie to yourself," Max smiled, before Nugget knew it, their lips locked and they were kissing. He was surprised but could believe it after just a short while. Nugget didn't want it to end, but Max pushed him away, only then did Nugget notice the beeping. It was so loud. He wanted it to stop. He wanted it to stop.
Then he woke up. The beeping didn't stop, he comes to his senses and realizes it was his alarm. It was all a dream. Disappointment washes over him, but he gets up, ready to start his day, somewhat. He makes himself breakfast and opens his door, just to see an officer standing outside.
"Oh- Hello officer!" Nugget jumps backwards in surprise.
"Hello, we have reason to believe you've been involved in a robbery that went down yesterday at the city's local coffee shop. Is this you in the photo?" The officer reaches in his pocket and unfolds a folded photo of security cam footage showing a masked nugget and a masked monkey with guns aimed at two cashiers at the coffee shop.
"Listen officer-" Nugget looks down at the officer's nametag, "Gabriel, that isn't me."
Gabriel raised his eyebrows and looks behind himself, "Alright, that's all I need to hear." Gabriel grabs the photo out of Nugget's hands and starts walking away.
"Wait!" Nugget yells, Gabriel turns back and raises his eyebrow, "Can I keep the photo?" Nugget asks, Gabriel hands him the photo and walks away. Immediately, Nugget notes that the photo is dated yesterday at 4:30 P.M. He sets it down on his coffee table and sits down on his couch, turning on the TV in an attempt to escape the case he just got himself roped into. The TV flicks on, straight to the news.
"This just in, the local coffee shop has been robbed by two masked individuals, one chicken nugget and one monkey, the perpetrators are still-"
"Great," Nugget sighs and turns off the TV. Many thoughts race through his head. He knows he didn't do this. If only he could figure out how to prove that he didn't do it.-- alright, part 2 ends here (so far). im sorry for procrastinating so much on this part but i did not expect so much support on part 1. i will be upd8ing this part but i just wanted to get something out right now to prove im still working. i want to share some plans that i have because i want you all to have something to expect with the next parts. there will be five parts and an epilogue. i will not spoil the contents of any of the parts. part 2 will take a while longer to finish but until then, thank you for reading
