"So, Lena and I went for that run yesterday..."

"And...? How was it?" Elana squealed. Ava quietly smiled, looking down at her feet. "She's coming over for dinner next Thursday..."

"No... way!" Elana grabbing Ava's hands, "Like, a date?"

"No.. not at date...well, may be a little like a date..."

The line for the concession stand moved forward. While Elana looked up considering what snacks she wanted to buy, Ava said...

"I think I need to break up with Jake." She furtively glanced at Elana. "About time!" she replied. 

"You don't like Jake?"

"Never have! Something never felt quite right with him. Plus he always has those wandering eyes. It's only a matter of time with him I reckon before... you know?"

"I know, what? And what wandering eyes?"

"How can you not have seen it?' exclaimed Elana. "He's always checking out other women!"

"Really? I'd never noticed... Anyway, I think I should do it. Should I?" Ava looking for confirmation she would be doing the right thing.

Taking out her phone, "I'll call him over now." Ava grabbed her hand to stop her. "Not NOW??"

"At least wait until we watch the movie first," joked Ava. "Mmm, you're right," agreed Elana, nodding.

Luna's Bistro

"I have a date!"

"Oh.. Do tell!?"

"Well, at least I think it might be a date? I'm not sure... Anyway, I'm going to Ava's for dinner next Thursday. She's going to cook for me!" Lena tried to hide the grin, but couldn't.

"Cooking for you? Sounds like potential wife material," grinned Maya.

"From your lips..." Lena closed her eyes in silent pray. She didn't really believe in any God, but for this...

"We have to go shopping then! You'll definitely need some new underwear! Something lacy. Oh, oh, maybe something crotchless!? Fuck it! Forget the underwear, just go commado... Easy that way"

Lena could only roll her eyes at Maya, "It's just dinner between friends. Not everyone is like you, Maya"

"Damn straight! I'm one of kind!"

Shameless Maya. You're really shameless... But I still love you... Lena thought.

Wavecrest Aparments

Ava's phone rang, it was Jake. She looked across to Elana who was sitting on the sofa watching TV; stuffing her face with chips.

"It's Jake." pointing to the phone.

"If he's here, you should do it outside," Elana thinking wisely, "Then you don't need to try to get him out of your apartment afterward."

"Good idea." Elana rubbed her nose, then turned back to the TV.

"Hello? Jake?"

"I've just arrived."

"I'll be down in second," Ava hung up before he could respond.

Jake was standing in the foyer area when Ava approached him. "Hey babe, long time no see," said Jake as he moved to give Ava a hug and a kiss. Ava put up a hand to stop him.

"Jake. We need to have a talk."

"Umm, okay? What about?"

Thinking to herself Better to get this done quickly I guess. "Jake...I don't think we should see each other anymore. I...I think we should break up." There! I said it!

"Break up? Why?" There wasn't confusion on his face, but annoyance.

"I just feel that we aren't right for each other, and that's not fair to you."

"Bullshit! How are we not right for each other? Look at us, we look great together, right?" Has he always been this superficial?

"And the sex is great, isn't it?" Maybe for you?

"Like the other night...like wow?" That wasn't credited to you.

"Sorry Jake. I am, but feelings can't be forced. Can they?"

Jake stared at her, clearly angry. "It's because of that dyke bitch, isn't it?" What the fuck did he just say?

"What did you just say?" a shocked Ava asked.

"I saw the way she was all over you at Flannigan's. What, have you decided to become a pussy licker now?" He really is a fucking asshole.

"I think you need to leave. Now, Jake!"

"I'm sorry, Ava. I shouldn't have said that."

"Just leave Jake. We're done." Ava turned and walked into the lift. As the doors closed, Jake just stared at her, fuming. She didn't even spare him another glance.
