Chapter 4: Bofurin

Medusa was with Toman for the beginning of the school year, he was waiting with Motako at the first year classroom for the squad to introduce them all on the first day- the agenda was for the first years to enter; he would introduce himself as the Toman squad assistant for an unspecified period, keep them quiet for Umemiya's speech and then take them out front to meet the Toman squad leader. It did not go like that at all...

It was the first thing in the morning, Medusa was tired but still life was worth enjoying and he had found an injured squirrel on the way to school and was currently nursing it in the classroom- the first years began to flood in and saw him with Motako sleeping on his lap like a cat, nothing was said but he got wierd looks nonetheless and soon everyone had made it to the class except for two individuals which were a bit late.

Sakura: " The name's Sakura and I'm gonna be top dog! "

Sakura burst into the class trying to act tough, a blonde boy behind him who looked ready to pass out when he saw Medusa sat at the front; he scrambled for a notebook and began whispering to Sakura about Mess who sat calmly with a squirrel. A tall black haired boy didn't take kindly to Sakura's declaration and rushed to fight him, he didn't mind since the school was made around the idea of fighting to get to know one another so as long as they didn't wake Motako he didn't mind.

Sakura and Sugishita, the black haired boy, were wildly going at eachother to the class' amusement but a loud bang shocked Motako awake, she yawned and sniffled with tears in her eyes since the bang spooked her and once she began shaking from fear- Mess stepped in, he gave Motako the squirrel which calmed her as she kissed his cheek but was still shaking; people began to move away which the two fighting didn't seem to notice.

The two boys were still fighting when they began to notice the space around them was much bigger and people had backed further away- they stopped to figure out why but were too late as large heavy chains were dragged around their necks and their heads were brought down into the floor as if they were bowing under the pressure of a diety.

Mess: " Apologise... "

Sakura: " Huh! What for! "

Mess: " You woke Motako "

There was a dumbfounded sound that shook the classroom as all the students looked in shock at the angry older boy who was just pissed off the two boys woke his girlfriend- Motako was wrapped around his arm happily, they could see butane bottles dangling on her waist and immediately deemed her crazy.

Mess: " Ok! Let me introduce yourself, I am a third year here; my name is Mess or Medusa depending on how formal ya wanna be- I prefer mess but I ain't complaining. Next to me is my girlfriend Motako; she's a bit jumpy and afraid of loud bangs so don't scare her. I will be your assistant for the Toman squad for this semester and will help in the class but I am not in charge of you- I only serve as an aid nothing more "

The class seemed to nod along, they understood the general idea that Mess was there to support them but they'd be left to deal with things on their own unless they needed help.

Mess: " Another thing, if you require first aid then come to me aswell- Me and Motako are both street fighters so we know a little martial arts but grew up without anyone to teach us so we use weapons more than anything; if you need to apologise to Motako for scaring her at any point I advise buying butane. Any questions? "

???: " Yeah why are you wearing a blindfold? "

Mess: " I am blind, I can see partially in low light but I keep a blindfold on to lessen damage to my eyes whilst they heal "

??? 2: " Is Medusa your real name? "

Mess: " No but I won't be telling you it "

More questions were asked but it eventually hit the time for the announcement and everyone was made to be quiet- Umemiya came through the speaker loudly and caused Motako to jump closer into Mess' arms in which he held her to calm her, the speech was just welcoming everyone and telling all squads to report to different areas to meet the ones in charge of them. Toman squad was lead down to the courtyard by Mess who stood to the side as Hiragi introduced himself.

After the introduction, the toman squad was assigned to patrol; the group would have to split up and go on a patrol around town. Hiragi, Sugishita, Sakura, Nirei, Suo, Mess and Motako were all in one group. Suo was a boy with an eyepatch and earrings that they met when he was placed on the squad- they all began to patrol the town and begin to get to know eachother.

Sakura: " So who is this Umemiya guy anyway "

Mess: " You have no chance of beating him to put it simply, he's an icon and a hero to people around here for a reason "

Sakura: " Huh! I'm gonna beat him especially if I plan to become top dog! "

Whilst they were talking, a boy who looked beaten up came running towards them- Mess heard someone mention it was a middle school uniform from Furin controlled area and he was running through a bridge they had reached that was someone else's turf. They prayed the boy would move faster but soon Sakura and Sugishita jumped in and kicked the attacker away and onto the floor.

Two more people came and started making fun of the guy for getting knocked down as Mess began walking forward to apologise for their actions when he heard a whistle and whipped something out the air with his chain, he caught it and removed the blindfold to see he had launched a knife into the ground that was pressumably thrown at him.

???: " Suprised you caught that... "
