The figure stood in front of the two. A Poké Ball is in his hand. They can't see his eyes under his red hat. He looks up at Rei. He has red eyes under his slightly long black hair. "Hey there. Can I help you?" Rei asks looking in his eyes. They stare for a few moments then Rei grins big. "Oh alright. Lets battle." he says. Bella looks at him, "He wants a battle?" Rei nods. He grins and the figure throws his Poké Ball. It opens and a small yellow Pokémon with red cheeks appears. "That's a Pikachu. Alright Shao let's give it everything we got." Rei encourages. The Riolu jumps into battle to meet the Electric Mouse Pokémon. "Shao use Quick Attack!" Rei commands with Shao obeying. The Pokémon attacked with great speed and hits Pikachu dead on. Without even waiting for a command from its Trainer it uses Thundershock on Shao. Shao gets hit and stands up. "Shao let's try Return!" Rei tells his Pokémon. "Return?" Bella watches as Shao starts glowing a faint white. Rei's gold eyes glow and in unison with Shao punches the air while Shao hits Pikachu. The attack does a lot of damage and the figure doesn't say a word as Pikachu stands up. "Shao knows Return? That's supposed to do damage depending on friendship." Bella whispers. "Shao use Endure!" Pikachu again uses a strong Thundershock. Endure narrowly saves Shao. "Lets finish this. Use Return!" Shao again glows. Just before they commence their attack the figure speaks, "Volt Tackle." Pikachu electrifys itself and charges toward Shao. Shao attacks and its paw and Pikachu collide and dust comes up and hides the outcome of the battle. The dust clears. Pikachu feels the recoil damage of Volt Tackle but stays up. A moment passes and Shao faints. Rei rushes to his Pokémon's side and holds him. "Hey buddy you okay?" he asks his Riolu. Shao replys with a weak cry and a smile. Rei smiles, "You did great. Rest up." he takes a Poké Ball from his belt and returns Shao to it. The figure calls Pikachu back into his Poké Ball and looks at Rei. "That was a good battle. My name's Rei" Rei says to him. "I'm Red. Hope we battle again." Red states before walking off. A spark went off in Red's mind when he saw Rei. He knew he was going to be a rival for him. He knew just by the look of him he was going to be great.
