"What is going on, Dad? Where is she going?" I shouted, panic seizing my chest.
"Come down, you're in the hospital," he replied, his voice steady but distant.
"Where is she going?" I screamed, my voice cracking with desperation, feeling the room spinning around me.
"You want to see?" he asked, his eyes searching mine, weighing something heavy in the silence.
"Yes!" I nearly begged.
"Then let's go, CM Sahab. It's your time to take your right place," he said, as if delivering some cryptic command. He turned without another word, and I was left reeling, my mind racing with questions. He didn't explain anything, just said we were leaving for Punjab.
Two hours later, we landed in Punjab. Exhaustion had begun to gnaw at me, but my mind refused to let go of the questions, the fear. I turned to him, my voice pleading, "What is going on, Dad? Where are we?"
But as usual, he didn't respond, the silence thick between us. I felt like I was drowning in it.
We disembarked the plane, and I followed him without a word, my every step heavy with unease. As we approached a massive, austere building, I could barely breathe. It was a government building, but there was no comfort in its walls—only a strange, foreboding sense of purpose.
We entered the building, and I froze. There, in the center of the room, stood the Prime Minister of the country. Beside him was the Defence Minister. My mind went blank. I couldn't comprehend what I was seeing. The walls seemed to close in as I took in the high-tech equipment surrounding them—large computers, glowing screens, and microphones everywhere.
She went on a mission, and I had no idea she was working on such a large scale that the Prime Minister, the Defense Minister, and other high-ranking officers of the country were involved.
My heart pounded in my ears as I heard my father's voice again, sharp and authoritative. "Where is she?" he asked one of the men stationed nearby.
"She'll land in 25 minutes," came the reply, calm and measured.
I tried to steady my breath, my eyes drawn to a massive screen mounted on the far wall. It displayed an image of a building—an apartment complex, perhaps. The camera zoomed in, showing people inside, their faces trapped in a haunting stillness. Children, women... they were tied up, some of them staring blankly, others weeping silently. I could barely make sense of what I was seeing, but I felt my stomach twist in horror.
The camera shifted, and I saw more: guns, weapons, drugs, all neatly arranged, as though they were part of a horrifying display.
The air in the room seemed to thicken. My vision blurred for a second as I stared at the screen, unable to process the weight of it all.
