Scene X
Young America POV
It's the second week of 6th grade. Confederate quickly rose to popularity along with a few others like Annie, Italy's crush. I'm still stuck as the least known person. I started to realize how everyone would call me Confederate's sister opposed to my real name. Why? Because they know I know where Confederate is most of the time. At least China's still with me. But it's the same as elementary school. We wouldn't really talk during school, afraid that Canada or Confederate would find out.
I sigh, making my way to my homeroom which is on the third floor of this five floor building. I'm so sad because I don't share any classes with Italy. Additionally, all his classes are on the first floor! I can only see him during lunch.
"Boo!"
I scream, putting my hands in front of my face to protect myself from any fists. I get none but a very distinguishable laugh. I blush, embarrassed. "China! I told you not to do that," I grumble, glaring at him.
"Sorry 美国," he grins, giving me an apologetic hug.
I scoff, "you already said sorry five times."
He rolls his eyes, "it's not my fault you're so fun to scare."
"China!" I huff, crossing my arms. He giggles, holding my hand.
"You're so cute when you're angry." He blurts out. He pauses, realizing what he said. His face turned red as he covered his face, "I said that out loud, didn't I?"
I blush, biting my bottom lip nervously. "Thank you?" I mumble, inaudible.
"Let's go to your class," he stutters, smiling to mask his nervousness. I nod my head, still flustered.
We walk down the hallway, hand in hand. It's so nice being with China. I love him so much. It's crazy how we understand each other. I could've never imagined him being friends with me, a person with no friends. I want to be like him so bad.
"What the f*ck?! That's my sister!" Confederate yells, slamming me against the lockers. I wince in pain, holding my arm. She turns to me angrily. "That's what you get b*tch," she snaps. I slide to the ground, tears begin forming in my eyes. My left arm and back throb, burning up like flames. Confederate scoffs rolling her eyes, "such a cry baby, right China?"
China slaps her, making her fall to the ground. A red mark of China's hand appears on her cheek as she stares at her boyfriend in horror. "Confetti," his voice booms with authority, causing my sister to shiver. "Say sorry, now."
My sister gets up, dusting herself off from the dust. "No," she smirks, but I can tell she's pretending to be brave.
China starts chuckling sadistically, scaring the sh*t out of her. I'm even surprised by how China's acting. I had never seen him like this before! "You're so heartless, Confederate." He starts, smirking slightly. "Why should I stay as your boyfriend when you treat your family like trash?" He whispers softly so other people won't hear.
Confederate swallows. Her hands shake uncontrollably. She kneels down in front of China, begging for forgiveness. I watch them, amazed at how China's able to control her. She would never beg me for anything. She would never show this vulnerable side of her, but she's doing it in front of China. How I wish I could make her beg and listen to me for one day.
China grimaces, "don't say sorry to me. Say sorry to your sister."
Confederate nods obediently, "sorry Uni."
"It's alright," I smile, getting up from the ground using the wall as support. China rushes over to me, helping me up.
"I'll take you to the nurses office. There's a bruise on your arm," he says worriedly. I flinch when he holds my injured arm. "Sorry," he mumbles.
