Here you were again, standing in a house party that smells like weed, sex, and alcohol. Your roommate, Maddie, dragged you here with her. She's always wanted you to accompany her at the parties she attends. She's wanted it more since she recently started dating some guy on the football team and was getting more and more invitations. You have always turned down her invitations, but said yes to this one for some reason.
flashback to a couple days ago
"I just don't understand what you have against college parties, Y/n," Maddie said, frustration lacing her tone, "Is this about you-know-who? You have only ever went out with him."
You continued folding the laundry as you spoke up. "Not everything is about him, and there's nothing wrong with parties. I just don't want to go, Maddie. It's really as simple as that." It really was as simple as that, but there was another reason.
Maddie stood with her hands on her hips. "Oh come on Y/n, you've been so busy and stressed with school and your job lately. This will be good for you. To let loose, live a little. School's almost over and you haven't been out since spring break," she paused, wondering if she should bring him up again, "If Mr. QB starts something, I'll make Justin shut him up."
You opened your mouth to reply, but closed it because she was right. You had been busy with your job and school. You spent many nights studying and working to distract yourself from everything, while your roommate was out partying. You can't let one person ruin everything for you.
"How about you go for one hour. If it's not your place, you can leave, but you might end up having a good time," you put down the towel you were folding to give your full attention to Maddie as she continued, "Plus, it's my birthday, Y/n. You're my best friend, and I want nothing more than my favorite person to have a good time on my birthday."
Maddie was your first friend when you got to LSU. You two connected almost immediately. You were like two sides of the same coin. While you were more interested in your studies than you were partying and socializing like her, you still relate on a lot of levels.
You reluctantly agreed because you didn't want to let her down. You just have to prepare yourself in case you see him again.
end of flashback
Leading up to the party, there were many times where you thought about canceling on Maddie, but you couldn't do that to her; especially on her birthday.
You were standing around talking to a couple girls Maddie knew, when you saw him again — Joe Burrow.
He was standing at the bar laughing at a joke one of his friends said. He replied back, that cocky smirk making its way onto his perfect face. He's probably talking about all the girls he's railed, you thought. You turned your attention back to the girls, before you would've made a bad decision — like deciding to go smack that smirk off his face.
You and the girls continued to talk for a few minutes before you decide to get a drink at the bar. You look to see that Joe is no longer there, so you know it's the right time.
While you're pouring a drink into a red solo cup, you feel a big, warm hand on your right hip. Before you have time to react, you feel someone's hot breath in your ear.
"You know how this skirt drives me wild," Joe whispers in your ear
