"Ladies and gentleman", our school principal announced. "To give a start to this celebration, please welcome this year's salutatorian, Diana Paradizo."

As I walked to the stage, all I was able to hear was the cheering crowd, along with the whistling and shouting that came from my friends and family. I almost laughed, but then I remembered that I was on my way to the stage so I had to keep my composture. Even though I had practiced this speech over and over again yesterday night, my palms where sweating like crazy. 'Keep your cool Diana' I thought to myself. 'You're going to do fine'.

I walked towards the podium and looked down towards all my classmates. I have to admit, I will miss every single one of them, no matter how obnoxious. Well, all with the exception of Drew Thompson. Oh that spawn of the devil could rot in Hell for all I care. I have had enough of him to last me a lifetime. As soon as the noise dialed down, I gripped the podium and started my well rehearsed speech.

"Students, parents, and members of the faculty, welcome to this memorable celebration of our accomplishments thoughout High School. These have been, without a doubt, the most life changing years of our lives. We still have a long way to go, but the events that took place in these 4 years will surely mark our lives together. Never forget the people that you spent these years with, whether you like them or not, because these are the people that have forged who you are. Remember these years and please, no matter what, follow your dreams and take risks. Because its risks that are the starting point of succes. Keep your eyes on what is really important, and never forget your High School years. Thank you very much and good luck, graduates!
