Chapter 7
Yoongi

I parked the car in front of Jimin’s office building, cutting the engine with a sigh. As soon as the car came to a halt, Jimin unfastened his seatbelt and stepped out without a word, heading toward the towering glass doors. He didn’t even glance back at me, his posture straight, steps quick and purposeful.

I followed behind him like a lost puppy, feeling a strange mix of regret and admiration. He was breathtakingly confident, and I was beginning to see just how much I had misunderstood him in the past.

As we approached the entrance, the elderly gatekeeper smiled warmly at Jimin.

"Good morning, Mr. Park," the man greeted, bowing slightly.

Jimin’s lips curled into a bright smile, one so radiant that for a moment, everything around me blurred. "Good morning, uncle," he said cheerfully. "But I told you a thousand times—don’t call me Mr. Park. Just call me Jimin! Stop the formalities."

He pouted slightly, making my chest tighten.

The gatekeeper chuckled. "Alright, alright, Jimin."

Jimin beamed, and I found myself staring. That smile... How had I ever thought he was cold? My heart clenched as I recalled all the cruel words I had said to him, the way I had treated him before the accident.

I was wrong about you, Jimin. So terribly wrong.

I didn’t deserve his kindness. I didn’t deserve to walk beside him like this.

As we stepped inside, a sudden squeal interrupted my thoughts.

"Jimin Hyung!" A young woman rushed toward him, throwing her arms around his neck.

Jimin laughed softly, hugging her back. "Oh, Lily! How are you?" He pulled away, tilting his head in concern.

"I’m fine, Hyung! But I missed you!"

Jimin chuckled. "I missed you too. Life’s just... going with some breaks."

Lily frowned. "Huh? What do you mean?"

Jimin quickly shook his head. "No, nothing. Forget it."

I watched closely. His voice had turned somber, and I knew exactly what he meant.

I was the reason for those ‘breaks’ in his life.

Lily finally noticed me standing awkwardly beside them. "Oh! Yoongi Hyung! You’re here too?"

I cleared my throat. "Yeah, just here with Jimin."

Lily grinned. "That’s great! How are you, Hyung?"

"I’m good," I replied, forcing a small smile.

Jimin, on the other hand, seemed in a rush. "I have to go now. Appa’s waiting, and I have a meeting soon."

Lily nodded. "Alright, Hyung. Take care!"

Jimin gave her one last smile before walking ahead, and I followed.

As we moved through the building, employees began bowing and greeting him with utmost respect. I noticed the way their eyes flickered toward me with surprise. They were used to seeing Jimin, but I was a new sight in this place.

Jimin ignored the glances and walked straight to the elevator. I stepped inside after him, standing beside him in silence as we ascended to the top floor.

When we reached his father’s office, Jimin knocked twice before stepping in.

"Yes, come in," a deep voice responded from inside.
