HEY. So I haven't been on for a while because of school 😣😣 but I'm back!!! I just uploaded a chap that I said I would continue this chap, but I'll upload it after this rant, k? COOLIES
Ok this rant may seem a little strange, but I have three younger half siblings (two girls, one boy) and the eldest (girl) has been having some trouble with one of her friends. They are both in Yr 3, and are sort of at the stage where they are starting to be lil' bitchy to each other.
Unfortunately my sister has been suffering under the hand of one of her 'friends' who targets her, excludes her and does everything that seems like the end of the world at that age. The thing that makes me really sad is that the girl and my sister get along really well when they are alone having a play date or such, but once they are at school, out come the claws!
The point I just want to come to today is often the parents of the 'bully' don't do anything much about it. My step-mum is fairly concerned about my sister, because the other girl just gets worse and worse.
The good thing is my step-mum and the other girl's mum are really good friends! They have tried to make the two girls figure it out once or twice, so my sister has adults backing her up.
Sadly in some other situations like this the parents are oblivious, either purposely or unintentionally. This obviously affects the 'bully' because they feel unthreatened and at ease to continue.
The situation at hand isn't serious, they will both grow out of the petty exclusion and secrets, but I would just like to say that I think some parents (note the 'some') should make an effort to note how their child is behaving during school hours. Often it's hard to know, because they don't see their child during school time, but I think that it also comes down to what their parents are treating them like at home as well. I feel like at this age it feels unnatural for them to be exposed to bitchiness like this, especially between girls
