Once

Once, a girl was lost in the shadows deep,

Where darkness held her in its icy keep,

Blind to the light that could set her free,

Her heart weighed down with uncertainty.

Once, the girl fell in love's sweet embrace, Her heart awash with a tender grace, A secret crush she held so dear, Whispered hopes and dreams sincere.

Once, she saw him, her heart would race, In stolen glances, a hidden place, But fate's cruel twist, a bitter blow, As she watched him with another go.

Once, she saw him hold her hand, Her world shattered, dreams unmanned, Silent tears traced down her cheek, A heart broken, unable to speak.

In quiet corners, she'd quietly weep, Her love unrequited, buried deep, But through the pain, a strength did rise, As tears became the rain that dries.

Once, the girl learned to let go, To mend her heart, to heal and grow, For love's journey twists and turns, Through joy and sorrow, the heart learns.

She found solace in the gentle rain, In the healing balm of time's refrain, And from the ashes, she arose, A spirit strong, no longer enclosed.

Once, the girl embraced her worth, Her soul renewed, a rebirth, She found love within herself anew, In passions bright and dreams pursued.

No longer bound by love's cruel game, She soared above the heart's old flame, For in the tears that once had cried, She found the strength to stand with pride.

Once, the girl's tears became her art, A testament to a healing heart, In every drop, a story told, Of love, of loss, of being bold.

Once, the girl got a little older,
Her steps grew firmer, her heart bolder.
With each passing day, she learned and grew,
Navigating life, discovering what's true.

Once, the girl learned of the world's vast sea,
Its wonders and challenges, vast and free.
She listened to stories of joy and pain,
And found wisdom in every refrain.

Once, the girl wrote a poem, sincere and clear,
With words that flowed from her heart so dear.
In verses she painted her dreams and fears,
A tapestry woven through laughter and tears.

Once, the girl found a dream, bright and bold,
A vision that sparkled, a tale to unfold.
In the quiet of night and the light of day,
She nurtured her dream in every way.

She chased it through valleys and over hills,
Through doubts and fears, and unforeseen thrills.
With courage as her faithful guide,
She ventured forth, no need to hide.

Once, setbacks came and courage waned,
But she persisted, undeterred and unchained.
For dreams are forged in the fire of will,
And with perseverance, they can fulfill.

She faced the storms with steadfast grace,
Finding strength in each challenge she'd face.
Through setbacks and victories, she would learn,
That the journey matters, at every turn.

Once, the girl realized with joyful surprise,
Her dream was closer beneath the skies.
For in the pursuit, she found her truth,
A passion ignited in her youth.

Once, the girl had a vision

She embraced it,

Chased it,

And started to listen.

Listening to the things around her,

Writing with passion, writing with power

As she dreamt she chased that dream

Searching for a chance; A chance to be seen.

Once, that dream, became a truth.

No longer a vision, nor idea from her youth.

She wrote with purpose, she wrote with skill.

She wrote with every bit of her will.

Now that girl is older and wiser,

Yet the girl is still inside her.

She still is young, and still has dreams,

But that dream is now her reality.

And now she's happier

Than she's ever been

All because, Once,

That girl had a dream.
