My eyes widen as the basketball hits the centre of Kevin's face. My friend, Haley, laughs and runs away from me, and slides down the folded up bleachers, collapsing next to my friend Penelope. I can hear them howling as I run over to Kevin, grabbing my basketball, "Oh my fucking God! I'm so sorry!" I exclaim as I look up at him.
He looks over at me, holding his nose at blood gushes out of it. My eyes widen as I watch him, "Really, Autumn, you had to hit me in the face?" Kevin asks, through the blood.
Not really sure how to respond, I shake my head wildly, "N-n-no! Of-f course not." I say, stuttering slightly, horrified on what could happen.
He laughs slightly as he looks over at me, his blue eyes twinkling, "I was messing around. It's fine." He says, blood pooling between our feet. Kevin sighs as he looks down, "I should go to the nurse." He says, before turning around and running towards the doors.
I groan as I look down at the blood. I run my fingers through my hair and shake my head as I walk over to my friends, hearing a lot of whispers as I do. I sigh as I plop down next to them. They're giggling as they look over at me, "Don't. Say. A. Word." I mutter, through a clenched jaw.
Penny flings her arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to her, "Come on, chica. Cheer up. You only ruined his perfect face." She says, smirking as she looks over at me.
I roll my eyes and pull away from her, "Oh shut up. I feel bad enough as it is." I groan, burying my head into my hands.
Haley leans over and pats my back, "Don't worry. It's not like you're gonna get suspended or expelled for it. It was obviously a complete accident." She says, actually trying to be kind, which is weird.
I sigh and look up at her, "I know I won't get expelled. I'm the best student this school has seen for a while. They're not gonna expel me, or suspend me. But that was so embarrassing!" I exclaim as I look away from her.
Haley laughs, "It was fucking hilarious. That's what it was." She says, smirking over at me, still giggling like a two year old.
I roll my eyes and look up at her, glaring slightly, "It was not funny. I'm dying of embarrassment right now." I whine slightly.
Penny laughs, not even trying to hide it, "Trust me, it was hilarious to us. I mean, you should've seen your face." She says, between fits of laughter.
I'm pretty close to slapping her when our gym teacher, Mr. Hetzel, walks up to us, "Autumn, you're wanted in the Vice Principal's office." He says, before walking away, probably to eat more donuts.
I sigh softly as I stand up, running my fingers though my hair slightly. My friends shrug at me, giving me sympathetic looks. I roll my eyes and head into the locker room. I change out of my boring, grey gym clothes and into my regular clothes. I do up my ripped skinny jeans, before throwing on my combat boots. I put on my Black Veil Brides tank top, before checking my hair and makeup in the mirror.
I sigh softly as I grab my messenger bag, and start walking down the hallways. I'm walking as slow as I possibly can, not wanting to deal with the lecture that's inevitably coming. I can't help, though, that I'm nonathletic.
I eventually get to the main office, and I'm ushered into the Vice Principal's office. I sit down in a cushioned, yet uncomfortable, chair as I look at the man staring back at me. There's an older couple in the office with me, and I can only guess that they're Kevin's parents, even though they got here really fast. Maybe I just took longer than I thought.
I am snapped out of my thoughts when Mr. Adams, the vice principal, clears his throat, "So Autumn, I heard there was a little mishap today in gym." He says, calmly, as if he's talking to a five year old.
I raise an eyebrow and shrug slightly, "I guess you can call it that. I just refer to it as 'The thing that was bound to happen because I can't do sports'." I say, looking back over at him.
He raises an eyebrow, clearing not amused as he leans back in his chair, "This is serious Autumn. Kevin's on the way to the hospital right now with a broken nose." Mr. Adams says, crossing his arms over my chest.
My eyes widen slightly, before I settle down, "At least it's a minor injury, it's not like I broke his arm or something." I say, mostly to relieve my own nerves.
Mr. Adams shakes his head, "He can't play football for weeks. We're losing our star player! This is huge!" He exclaims, seemingly fuming as he looks over at me.
My eyes widen even more, "He'll be fine. Our football team can handle a few games without him." I say, crossing my arms over my chest.
I hear a delicate little cough, and I look over. I completely forgot that Kevin's parents were here. Kevin's mom looks between me and Mr. Adams, "It was an honest mistake. There should be no punishment. But, we're going have to ask you for something, Autumn." Kevin's mom says, looking over at me.
I nod quickly, "Yes, anything, ma'am." I say, trying to be polite, even though I'm freaking out slightly.
Kevin's dad shuffles slightly, "We were wondering if you could tutor Kevin through this. He'll have to miss a few days of school, and you're one of the smartest people in the school." He says, patting his wife's hand reassuringly.
I'm taken back a bit, by this news. I nod slightly, "Yeah. Of course. Anything I can do to help." I say, knowing my punishment could be a lot worse.
Kevin's dad stand up and offers me his hand to shake. I take it, "Perfect. Can you meet us at St. John's Hospital after school? With any homework Kevin might have." He says as he pulls out Kevin's schedule, handing it to me.
Mr. Adams sighs softly, obviously not content with the punishment, "Fine. I'll let all of his teachers know that Autumn will be dropping by to pick up homework." He says, turning to his computer.
I nod and stand up, "Well, I have to get to my next class. I'll see you guys later." I say, shaking their hands, before turning around and walking out of the office.
I sigh softly and look down at the schedule as I walk down the hallways. I'm definitely thankful I didn't get a harsher punishment, but I don't like tutoring people. Mostly because I'm not good with people.
I groan as I get to my next class. I sit down in my seat and get out all my stuff, hoping things will be easier from here on out.

The rest of the day goes by rather smoothly, if you take away the constant teasing I get from my friends, and the numerous whispers I hear whenever I walk by.
I'm walking around the school, picking up all the homework I need to for Kevin, and I better not break my back from the extra weight. Finally, I get all the papers and I'm trudging out to my car. I take my keys out and turn on the car, turning up my radio as Twenty One Pilots blasts in the speakers.
I'm about to start driving when my phone goes off, getting a text from Haley, "Remember, it can't be that bad. Tutoring the cutest guy in school."
I roll my eyes, throwing my phone onto the passenger seat. I run my fingers through my hair and start driving to the hospital, hoping that she's right, for once.
