A tall and fairly young teen in a school uniform enters a door of what seems like an apartment room. The room felt empty, cold, and quiet the only thing that could be heard was the sound of soft rain outside. Upon entering, he sees his father who lay on his stomach on the red couch surrounded by empty glass bottles of alcohol surrounding it, and the man had woken up from his slumber.
“Cael… is.. that you…?” The old man slurred, not making a move from his position not bothering to look at the teen. Cael furrows his eyebrows at the sight of the mess his father had made, he had to clean this up later and too tired to reply or to take action he ignores the man and enters his locked room. It was not an uncommon sight of his father passed out somewhere around the house, for he was an alcoholic. Cael preferred that his dad was knocked out like this because of alcohol rather than doing drugs in the apartment, it was much less of a hassle to deal with.
He has had a long day and just wanted to take a nap for the day, tired he yawns and walks over to his bed not bothering to pay attention to anything else, along the way to the comfort of his bed he slips tripping over a folded carpet and knocks over one of many items on the edge of his desk, a small swinging mirror. Face planting on to the carpeted floor. He sits up, groaning in frustration, his eyes narrows to the ground, seeing the mess of the shattered mirror. ‘i should've put that farther from the edge’ he thought, annoyed, biting the insides of his cheeks. He brushes his golden locks back.
‘Well no use in complaining now…’
Cael stands up from his spot to go grab a broom, oddly enough after he returned not even a few minutes, he saw no remaining signs of the shattered mirror that scattered on the surface of the floor, instead a clean floor and just his swinging mirror on the floor. He raises an eyebrow in confusion ‘I AM tired but I I'm NOT that tired… to the point of hallucinations..’ he places the broom aside and knelt down one knee to take a closer look.
He grabs the mirror into his hand ‘the mirror is restored..?’ He was bewildered at the sight. Was he really that tired? ‘No.. That's not it,’ he knew what he saw. He inspects closer, expecting to meet his own reflection instead coming face to face with a girl? Cael widens his golden eyes, he was dumbstruck. Was the sleep deprivation catching up to him because..
‘That's not me.’
The coffee colored hair girl opposite the mirror nervously laughed, she was trying to process the situation. Her cherry colored eyes just spotted a sight of a figure! Inside the mirror!
‘did I just see a figure in the mirror..?’
With trembling hands she then looks closer to investigate the clouded mirror. Earlier that day, her friend had lend her the mirror, her friend had warned her and claimed that the object was haunted.
Because it was producing noises. Obviously, she didn't really believe in any of those paranormal stuff, so she made a bet and to prove her friend wrong she decided to take the mirror home. But now she has been proven wrong, she's laughing nervously as she’s realizing that the 'noises' her friend had been complaining about all day may have came from the ‘person’ inside the mirror. She wipes the mirror with the sleeves of her shirt to see more clearly of the figure, and it was a fairly young man.
‘It won't jump out right…’ she was praying.
On the other side a curious Cael knocks on the mirror. He was as equally confused. He remembers that this mirror was a gift given from his mother, it the first ‘ancient’ as his friends would put it, first antique item that he had collected, Cael adores collecting antique items.
His friends had told him his hobby was a little freakish and had often questioned how he hasn't been haunted or cursed yet by a spirit, he paid no mind to their silly remarks. Because so far he hadn't experienced anything out of the ordinary. Well… until now that is.
He then opens his mouth to talk “Are you a ghost..?” his honey like voice glazed in curiosity. He wasn't scared because the ‘ghost’ didn't seem like the usual scary ones in the movie.
Robin still left with so many unanswered questions, she was baffled at the sudden question. Why would the boy inside her friend's mirror, who could possibly be a ghost too ask her that? "I think i'm the one who's supposed to ask you that!" She exclaimed, A hint of fear lacing her voice. She suddenly realizes something. "Wait.. are you a stalker?! Are you stalking my friend?! Huuuhh? Hey answer me!" She says it all at once not giving the boy a chance to answer.
He was sort of offended by the girl's bold claims 'is this girl an idiot or something.. ' he was a little pissed. "Well.... I'm not sure what kind of stalkers your friend has been dealing with, but I don't think any of them would be revealing their face to a victim." Clear sarcasm seeping out of his tongue, his eyes look to the side. He had so many theories roaming around his mind. Magic mirror? A prank? Ghost? He will get his questions answered eventually.
Robin almost believed him but her cautious self didn't want to buy any of it, because all of this seemed too bizarre for her. "I mean.. don't you know that people can put cameras in mirrors?!" Then she thinks again for another while... Before speaking up again "So.. you aren't a stalker right..?" Robin asked again for another precaution because she just wanted to make sure, for her friend’s safety.
"If I had put cameras in your friend's mirror would I be dumb enough to put the type where it shows my face? I don't think so" He rolls his eyes. Cael stayed silent for a good moment, in deep thought planning on what to do next, he wanted to know more and his curiosity was eating him alive. "Look erm.. Whoever you are it doesn't seem like you're in my mirror and by the looks of it you're in a whole different place, may you show around your current environment and if you don't trust me I get it, it's fine miss..? What's your name?" His voice softens up asking the question no longer tense, he believes the girl to be harmless. It seems that she's more afraid of him that he is with her.
Robin thinks about his request for awhile. Does she really have to show this stranger in her friend’s mirror her surroundings? "Uhm.. fine.. " Robin hesitantly agrees and shows some parts of her room, She revealed different areas of her room, and just as he thought she wasn't in the mirror but in a completely different location. Her room was adorable, filled with plushies and various cute, furry pillows scattered around, yet it was tidy and clean, resembling the room of a typical young girl. Then, his attention was drawn to the window. "May i also see your surroundings?" Robin whispers.
“And the name's Robin”
Currently for Cael it was night time opposite to Robin.
'different countries perhaps?'
He obliged to her request also and showed his surroundings to her. The room he occupied was a stark contrast to Robin's, bathed in darkness as opposed to the bright atmosphere of Robin's room. The yellow lights illuminating the antique items that filled the space. Perhaps it was because of the late hour that made it so much somber than it actually is. After that, he then continues to question her "Can you tell what year is it today? “
"Year? Why?" Robin questioned. Who would ask someone they just met some few moments ago the year it is right now? Surely anyone normal wouldn't. "What are you, some time traveller?" Robin joked. "It's 20XX.”
Cael's eyes widen in realization
"Oh? Isn't it 20XX?"
