         Chapter One: Burdened Heart.

Steve jolted awake, something was strange, almost off. When did he fall asleep? The last he knew was that he was in a cuddle with Robin and Dustin with Nancy in the room. But as his amber eyes darted hastily around the room, no-one was to be seen. It was just him, he was alone here. This was a crushing feeling to Steve but also one that was very confusing, he had no idea what was going on. “Nance? Rob? Dustin? Hello? Anyone?” Steve calls out wearily but is met with the wall of biting silence just the echoes of his own voice cascading through the hallway. Something didn’t sit right with Steve Harrington, this was odd. Hauling himself up from where his curled up body was, he groans as he stretches multiple bones in his body cracking. Steve decides to venture out of his room, looking for the others that he could have sworn was in his room with him, being his support system after everything that happened with his beloved but never forgotten Eddie. The floorboards creaked and groaned with each pressing step Steve took, he was paranoid. Was the same thing that happened to him going to happen again? Steve knew he was vulnerable to Vecna’s wrath, he knew that the trauma his mind was plagued by he was like a sitting duck for Vecna to just grab him and kill him like Chrissy. like …Eddie. Steve knew in his mind that he wanted to join his love in the abyss of death but did he want to go out the same way, killed by such a monstrosity that is Vecna. Steve shakes his head and makes his way down the stairs, he looks within each room to see if the others had just merely gone downstairs but no-one was there. Steve was baffled, getting more and more panicked, his breathing quickens. His head darts upwards as he hears a noise from up there but it didn’t sound like it was in his bedroom but more like the attic. An unnerving feeling floods Steve’s system as his own curiosity gets the better of him. Steve makes his way back up the stairs extremely cautiously, he was scared but didn’t want to make this known so as he slowly makes his way up he grabs his trusty nail embedded baseball bat keeping it close by his body as a means to protect himself, step by step steve gets to the top of the stairs and makes his way slowly towards the attic, the sound was getting louder and louder upon his approach. He couldn’t really make out this noise, it wasn’t one he had heard before. Maybe it wasn’t Vecna coming for his ass again, upon that thought Steve’s body relaxes becoming less scared but more curious as to what or who was making this sound. The sound was grotesque and grim in nature, squelching of something radiating from behind the closed door of the attic.

Steve gets closer and closer and the noises get more gorey and obscene louder and louder, it was making Steve's stomach churn with anxiety. Steve lightly knocks on the door of the attic with his bat “Who’s in there?” He calls out, hiding his own fear. Suddenly the sounds stop, everything returns to a deafening silence once more, until….

BANG BANG BANG BANG! SCREECH! Was the sound that boomed against the door causing Steve to startle and fall backwards, bewildered he looked at the door once more, he was more than certain there was something behind that door, but what? The screeching didn’t sound like really anything he had heard before. Nothing in the upside down nor in Hawkins was this sound familiar. Steve tries to think of where he may have heard this noise but nothing was sticking out in his mind, as he starts to think the screech was somewhat familiar to that of a demogorgon but it wasn’t a threatening sound more like the creature was in pain of some description. Like the abomination was…getting attacked and eaten. Steve’s eyes widen with this deduction, but what could take down a demogorgon also how the fuck did a demogorgon get into his attic? There were so many questions running through Steve's mind, but his body wanted to go back to the door and open it.  Was this a good idea? Steve was weighing up his options when another loud banging and scratching noise from the door.

Steve gets up from the floor and approaches the door again

He reaches out and opens with door with a creaking groan from the decrypted door

Steve’s eyes widen at what he sees…..
